Monday Must-Haves + Pregnancy FAQs
Galentine’s Day - If you know me, you know I love Parks & Rec, I love Leslie Knope, and I love my girlfriends. So, last night I threw my first ever Galentine’s Favorite Things party! A little class, a little sass, and a lot of fun with my sweet Life Group gals. We each brought 5 of one of our favorite things, and after sharing about why they’re our favs, we drew numbers and got to picking. After 5 rounds of selections, we each ended up with 5 different items to keep! I made chocolate toffee bark, key lime pie bars, and (my favorite!) this SkinnyTaste no-bake cheesecake topped with sliced strawberries & blueberries.
Ok2Wake Toddler Alarm Clock - we started this with Sullivan about 3 months ago, and with the light alarm, she caught on quickly! She can’t get up before the clock lights up green at 7:15am, and her 2hr30min nap timer guarantees me a good midday chunk of time! HUGE WIN.
Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray - my “favorite thing” contribution to the Galentine’s Party and a product I’m obsessed with right now. Not only does it protect my hair from drying & styling, but it dries my hair in under 5 minutes and leaves it shiny without being greasy.
Fourteen Pillows - all for me. Because that’s about what it takes to get comfy for sleeping at 31wks pregnant.
Manna Kadar 3-in-1 Blush Highlighter Eyeshadow in Fantasy - the perfect amount of dusty pink color and shimmer to sweep onto cheekebones for a little pizazz, without looking overdone for daytime.
Ebates.com - I’ve heard about this site for years, but I figured there had to be a catch. Guess what? There isn’t. Literally go to Ebates.com, type in the store you’re planning to shop at and they’ll reroute you directly to it. Just by going through the Ebates website, you’ll get cash back that they send in quarterly chunks, either as direct deposit or actual mailed checks. I don’t buy anything extra that I wouldn’t normally buy, and I’ve already made over $16 in money back!
Our all too lovely curated Pandora station of Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Eric Church, Johnnyswim, and Chris Stapleton. A little twang, a little blues, a little ballad, and a lot of perfect. Doors open, sun shining in, breeze blowing through. Spring (or whatever this funny season is) in Texas is my favorite.
Once Upon A Child - I’m dumbfounded by the price of toddler shoes. They’re TINY. Why do they cost more than my shoes?! Popped into Once Upon a Child the other day and snagged 5 pair for SCP for $23. I’m sold.
Bins, storage boxes, baskets. In all shapes and sizes. Spring cleaning + preparing for baby #2 = a mama who needs all the organizational help she can get. Hobby Lobby, Target dollar section, and Marshall’s are my go-to’s for these.
Speaking of baby-en-route, it turns out I’ve shared very little on here. I’ll go ahead and answer some of your FAQs to fill y’all in!
When are you due? April 13
Has this pregnancy been similar to yours with Sullivan? Not at all. While I was sick with Sullivan from weeks 7-15, I’ve only gotten sick twice with this babe. I started showing sooner, grew faster, and am carrying lower. This time around I’m craving sweets over salty foods. The weeks are flying by and while I’m feeling way more movement and pressure this time around, we’re growing more eager by the day for this new addition!
Boy or girl? We didn’t find out again! Everyone, and I mean everyone, thinks I’m having a boy since my pregnancy has been pretty different, but this time around I have no inclination at all!
Are you planning a natural birth again? Yep. That’s the hope! Our awesome doula has been hired and we’re preparing for as similar of a labor/birth experience as possible.
What’s your maternity leave plan? Working at a PDO, it runs the length of the school year. I’ll take off through the end of the year and the summer session, and then plan to start again in April! I’m so thankful for this schedule!!
Where will the baby go? We love our 3rd bedroom set up as a playroom/office/guest room so the plan is to put the new baby in with Sullivan after a chunk of time in with us. Anyone have tips and tricks for how this can work?!
