Today, I’m going to write down what kinds of roles each of the main characters in Barbie in the Nutcracker (2026) I think would have.

Barbie “Malibu” Roberts stars as Clara once again, while Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts steps into the role of the Sugarplum Princess. On Christmas Eve, Malibu and Brooklyn receive two matching lockets. When the Rat King steals their lockets, their friendship slowly begins to fade away. It’s up to both Barbies to defeat the Rat before they become mortal enemies.

As for Ken, who plays the Nutcracker, he could serve as the hero who helps the two Barbies on their journey and might convince them not to fight.

Now onto Renee, Daisy and Nikki. Hopefully they’re not as useless as Major Mint and Captain Candy from the 2001 film because they were absolute idiots. Maybe they could at least provide the entertainment and add some stuff to the plot.

And Etta? Well… she’s not as important as the rest of the cast, but she still plays a role. Maybe she could serve as the “cute animal” sidekick with mighty ballet dancing powers.

I haven’t talked about Dolphin from The Pearl Princess in a while! I thought I’d write down why I love him to death.

First of all, I absolutely adore Dolphin’s design. He has these cute little bracelets that make him so unique when it comes to his design. Sure, he only appeared for like two minutes in the movie, but he’s just too underrated to be forgotten.

I also adore his voice. Jeff Evans Todd brought him to life with an adorable performance (fun fact: he’s only 35 and was 22 when the movie came out!). I also love that he joins Fergis’ family for a royal dinner which shows how important he is to the group. Dolphin definitely deserves a treat; millions of fish.

Clementoni Barbie in the Nutcracker Super 104 Puzzle 2026

Yep, Mattel has leaked more Nutcracker stuff. This time, it’s a jigsaw puzzle!

In this picture, there’s Ken, Renee, Brooklyn Barbie, Malibu Barbie, a horse, and Brooklyn’s cat Etta. What could this mean? Could Mainframe be doing the animation? My hopes are high!

My mother and I were talking about what part Etta could play in the special, and this is what mother said.

Maybe Etta could play the ‘cute cat’ character but is more than that; she’s a strong kitten who has more strength and loyalty than the Mouse Rat King gives her credit for.

I gotta say, she does look adorable in that ballet outfit. But we’ll see what Etta will do.
