Street Fighter III 2nd Impact: Giant Attack Publisher: Capcom Developer: Capcom Platform: Arcade, Dreamcast Year: 1997 (Arcade), 1999 (JP DC), 2000 (NA/EU DC)
âLots of willpower, you need to be pretty strong willed to not eat any meatâŠor eggsâŠor anything dairy. Itâs super hard because a ton of shit has that stuff in it and you gotta look at the ingredients to make absolutely sure thereâs nothing in it you canât eatâ
This was coming from a guy with the most garbage willpower to ever be seen. Todd was so weak willed that he still fell for peer pressure for gods sake. But he was actively trying to do better, back home his lack of willpower got the Vegan Police on his ass and he lost a childhood friend because he couldnât say no to a buxom wallflower girl with cute glasses.
âI didnât have any traumatic experience to turn me into a vegan, I did it myself, even when my dad was all like âyou can never be vegan youâre a weak little coward, you donât have the willpowerâ. Hahaha fuck you dad iâm a vegan, howâs that feel to know you were finally wrong?â
âI actually have no idea how he feels about but I assume heâs veryâŠproud? Hopefully proudâ
Just as Ken is about to make a joke about his vegan lifestyle, the mention of the father comes up. His expression turns stoic and he listens to every word thereafter.Â
He remains silent for a few minutes. It reminds him of the time his father sent him off. As a twelve year old child he was sent off to Japan to learn discipline. At first, the young Ken found there was nothing; everything he knew about former life turned him upside down. It took a year at the most to feel comfortable in his new situation. While in the end Ken who he was and his plans for the future, including the brotherly bond he formed with Ryu, it did not erase the feeling of abandonment.
"Who cares what he says?" Ken replies, his eyes moving from his bowl to meet Todd's. "Heâs no longer in your life, right? Forget him." Now silence overcomes him once more as he eats the vegan food. He eats it for Todd's sake rather than his own.
i have this headcanon that ken calls out eliza's name in rocky's voice when he is bored or feeling in a goofy mood.
When you love something, you donât threaten it. You donât punish it. You fight for it. You take care of it. You put it first.

Mentally, Ken whistles at the incredible speed this man possesses. He sees the reaching out palm, ready for collision. Ken feels the contact at his nose, forcing the cartilage to snap. He has his nose broke several times, thus he isnât affected by the pain, though he leans back in the opposite direction of the attack.
However the other is close now and his hands are free. Thus he grabs Wolfwoodâs head and quickly snaps his leg up, his knee following the trajectory towards his opponentâs face.
Wolfwood could have sworn that snapping sound would have shaken Ken a little more than that. But the other male had used the close contact to his advantage, as well! Heâd praise him if he didnât have a knee in his fucking teeth. The priest takes the hit, feels flesh and pearly whites scrape, feels blood between themâ but he, too, uses the weight of Kenâs attack to go with the flow.
He pivots on his heel while simultaneously grabbing Kenâs knee as soon as it connects, uses the force to attempt to throw him.
With only one foot on the ground, he couldn't control the throw. He finds himself flying over Wolfwood; he manages to tuck in his legs to manipulate the trajectory. He opens his legs when he gets closer to ground and he lands on his feet.
This guy had enough strength to throw him, kudos to him. He's no push over throw that for sure. With that knowledge, he decides to rely on countering and blocking to avoid getting hit, doesn't mean he was going to be a push over.
He charges forward to Wolfwood, though he jumps into the air to flip; as he closes the distance, he holds out his leg as he falls, heel aiming for Wolfwood's head.
Clearly Kenâs trying to get him to close the gap between themâ heâs one for fighting in close combat. Wolfwood, not so much. He doesnât take the bait, not at first. Heâs more familiar with weapons combat butâŠ.
When it comes to speed, he canât be beat. That might be his advantage. So, kicking off on one foot, Wolfwood barrels right into Ken as quick as lightning, the heel of his palm coming out to connect with his opponent.Â

That pushes a new sound out of his lungs: laughter. He canât believe this guy, kind of. The freedom of just being, just your strength.
âYouâre on. Donât regret this, okay?âÂ
He stretches his arms over his head, jerks his neck from side to side. Wolfwood wonât give away any of his moves just yet but heâs measuring the other male up.
âHa! Like Iâll ever regret a fight!â
Ken starts to back up from the male in the attempt to draw him closer. This tactic is useful for Ken; he happens to be fast, faster than any ordinary person. Although in comparison of the other fighters such as Chun Li or Cammy proves that he doesnât rely on speed, thus it makes dodging all the more difficult. What he lacks in speed he gains in strength.
Considering Kenâs appearance, the mage had to assume the fighter was from a mostly normal world. Later he could be proven wrong. Itâs about working with the information you have. There seemed to be hundreds of them out there, even if some were only different in the smallest of ways.
What makes this conversation difficult is straddling a fine line between reality and optimism. No part of him can blame Ken for lashing out. Not that it makes this any less frustrating. There is certain information he needs to hold back; saying no one has found a real exit would only make things worse. Paying for a broken table because of an angry fighter doesnât sound ideal.
For now his movements remain stiff. Not fully relaxed because the other man isnât either. No matter what them leaning on the table tries to say.
This is not the first time Daylen has been accused of resembling stories or history, and it wonât be the last. He manages to brush it off despite Kenâs sudden change in attitude.
âUnfortunately, my robes are a lot more real than that.â The green robes werenât very fashionable, but they were the most powerful he had found. Being a Commander meant choosing practicality over looks.
âI come from a world known as Thedas. The country of Ferelden specifically, although I moved there when I was young instead of being born there.â Being dragged there as a child because he had magic is left out.
âTo some people, it does resemble what they might find in stories. But Thedas is a very real place although rather dangerous. If alright, may I ask you the same in return? Although if it would make you feel more homesick there isnât need to answer.â
The pair are interrupted by a waiter arriving, bringing the food they ordered and laying it on the table. Daylen took the opportunity to carefully pick up his cutlery, handling it like at any noble gathering.
âWe seem to have passed the time well enough. Now the food has actually arrived. I hope you enjoy it, Ken.â
First impressions always last, said some person at a such-n-such time. It isn't true in this case. The robed man happens to have a kind heart, as told by his actions by sticking around the stranger. For the first ten minutes the meeting is nice, now this kindhearted stranger is sounding like a big dork. He listens to what the other to say for the sake of getting out of here.
Ken remains lax on his side of the table, yet those eyes of attitude speaks volumes. Asking about his home did make him uncomfortable. He looks away and once more his mood changes. His best friend is wandering around the world, itâs not likely he will die by the hands of me, but perhaps by satsui no hado, thereâs a chance, and Ken wouldnât be there to ground him.
Then there is his wife. Oh beautiful, sweet, loving Eliza. He couldnât ask for a better life partner to spend it with than Eliza. Her love for him is giant as the sea and she proved herself by running off to see him fight in the World Warriorsâ competition.Â
Heâs worried for her wellbeing and her security. Shadaloo must know her by now, after all they were present during the tournament. If Shadaloo got to Chun Liâs father and that military guy, thereâs a chance she may not escape. Ken could only trust Ryu for taking care of her, unfortunately he doesnât know where the hell he is and the communication, well there lack of, made it more frustrating.
âNo, donât want to talk about it.âÂ
If he did, Ken would feel the sudden pang of guilt for leaving his wife. Even if it wasnât his fault technically, he vowed on their wedding day he will protect her.
âIâve lost my appetite,â he mutters, pushing the plate away from him with the back of his hand.
ken: *looks to gideon and then to todd* i fight the winner
âAaannnnd another dead end. Damn, they need a tour guide for this place, itâs the least they could do.â Ken proceeds exit the alley; he looks left and right for a sign of life.Â
âMan, I was looking forward to that sushi place.â
His prayers seem to be answered when he sees a figure roaming his way.
âHey! Hey you! Hey, I need some answers!â
âThis is it?â Ken examines the portion size of the meal that Todd offered him. In his attempt to be friendly, Ken had decided to spend it on a fellow who was aware of what brainwashing felt like. Their group is rather small right now, thus calling it the Brainwashing Anonymous would be jumping the gun.
âHey wait a minute, thereâs no meat in here.â
âLook man if you donât want it iâll just eat it, no hate here, some people just canât handle the vegan lifestyle; I get itâ
The remark came off a little more smug than Todd would have liked, old habits died hard he supposed. He looked at what he had offered and took a bite out of it without any hesitation.
âThatâs pretty much the point of a meat-free dish, yeah, thereâs no meat in it.â
âI mean, you could get some tofu, but I wouldnât recommend it, that stuff is pretty much garbage when itâs not in soupâ
Ken hangs his head low in dismay. It's no surprise the burly man had an insatiable appetite. His usual diet consists the food table itself on all levels. He has to eat twice as more as as any normal individual to burn in training. Having this dinky meal without any meat or grains isn't helping his mood.
"Right, vegan. What traumatic experience with food did you have?"
Regardless if it is small, Ken is hungry. With the given utensil, he starts to shovel the food into his mouth. He scrapes more food until he can hardly chew. It is a horrible taste, nothing like the meals he gets at home. He settles for shallowing what chewed pieces he had.
"Wow," he begins, "tell me you could never get tired of the taste" he answers sarcastically. Dammit, if I weren't hungry I'd let to take it off my hands. How the hell do you get used to this grub?"

Kenâs speechless, he couldnât not comprehend skeletonâs capability to walk up right. Reminded him of that old cartoon he watched, was it Disney? None of his memories mattered now, it wouldnât help against a skeleton anyhow.
âThis city canât be hell--â
Perhaps the first time he has ever considered on going to hell. Too late to get on his knees and pray.
âCalm down,â he says, holding an npc by the shirt. âThis punk tried to hurt a lady. Iâm the good guy here, alright?â Ken releases the npc and steps out of his way; it was an act of mercy on Kenâs behalf.Â
âHe wasnât much of a challenge, anyway.â He lifts his hands behind his head to rest against his palms. âDid you need something, lady?â
