What are your characters pronouns and identities if they are anything? :>

Oooh I haven't thought much about that yet but now I have a reason to 👀

They are mostly aligned with their assigned identity, but there's a pinch of fluidity to some of them, nothing I want to put a definite label on though, I like to keep some things loose and open for more fun in exploring and expanding on my characters over time.

I'll list my four mains below, you can def feel free to interpret with what I am thinking of 🫶🏻

Nimue goes with she/her but does not mind they/them in any way. As for identity she does indentify as female.

Lee is more fluid. She primarily identifies as female, but does experience some fluidity here and there depending on her mood, the situation or a general overall feeling for periods of times. She is fine with every pronoun and mostly uses she/her.

Tasia identifies as female and uses she/her. She is a bit more touchy with he/him pronouns as she's been mistaken for a man before when she was with the Flaming Fist and wore full armor. She is and feels very feminine despite her strength and build, and does not like being called masculine or being compared to men (it's also a childhood thing).

Now Hael as Dark Urge believing herself to be purely Drow for the longest time is— a complicated stew. She uses she/her and identifies with being... something? She dons heavy femininity and its entire meaning as she is convinced of being a Drow and also a high priestess of Lolth, so being anything but female would make no sense to her. However, she is somewhat disconnected to it all given her amnesia and not knowing she is not really a Drow, just looks like one. Somewhere towards the endgame when the truth is revealed about herself and her origin, Hael has a bit of a crisis and does not even see herself as a being, really, so her identity is pretty scrambled. Eventually she'll lean into identifying as female again though, which was definitely a little influenced by being with Minthara.

I have many more characters but I'll keep it with these four as they're the ones I draw the most, thank you for asking, I love getting asks that make me get into nitty gritty details!!💖

So how did the Dark Urge, Astarion and your Tav get together in the story?

I am getting so many asks that bait me to yap and I will oblige 🤌🏻

Now Nim and Astarion get together very much aligned with the way the romance plays out in game. They sleep with each other at the Tiefling party (for ego reasons mostly, not because they both truly want to— they're stupid that way), then Astarion has his oh moment realizing why he gravitates towards Nimue so much and keeps his distance. In Act 2 they encounter Araj and well Nim doesn't hand him over, and Asta has to acknowledge the festering fondness bothering him so, as does Nimue herself. Everything after that aligns pretty much.

Now how did Durge get sprinkled into that soup? Well I don't know all that yet either whoops.

I am unsure where to insert him into the story, currently I'm thinking somewhere in the Underdark post Tief party. I would like Astarion and Nimue to be feeling conflicted about one another already when Durge enters the scene, because he is someone they both agree on to swoon over— not to forget his strange behaviors and deadly urges that have them intrigued for their own reasons (Asta for protection, Nim out of morbid curiosity).

But regardless, how the three of them end up involved with one another is mostly because both Nimue and Astarion begin to swarm around Durge once he joins the team, and he enjoys both of their neutral evil dispositions, makes him feel less like a monster on the loose. Eventually the feelings just happen through routine and tough times, wouldn't exactly say "trauma-bonding" but something like that given their issues and the stressful situation they're all caught up in. As they all start to rely on one another, they also begin watching the other's back, tending one another's wounds, picking up on habits and working with/around them; they don't even realize they're a throuple for the longest time I'm pretty sure pff.

This is post Tiefling party after the both of them mingled (for their own egos mind you, I'll get to that eventually)

Astarion felt this pull towards Nimue, even though she treated him and everyone else like lesser than her, but couldn't explain why. After spending the night together, he's firmly telling himself it must be because she secretly does like him but just won't admit it. There is some truth in it, but after this interaction, he understands why he felt the constant need to stay close around her; she reminded him of Cazador.

Turns out the unpredictable situation they were all in caused him to subconsciously orbit towards what he'd known for 200 years; degradation, ridicule, cold demeanors and sharp glares. He avoids her for a good while after that realization, up until they reach the Shadowcursed Lands and encounter Araj, where the next emotional issue just waits to happen and complicates things further for the both of them.
