This sketch started out as something else entirely, but it didn't work out so I erased 3/4ths of it and somehow managed to salvage it as a somewhat burly Carol. Also: new year, new signature!

Final reminder: where to find me next
For the last few stragglers, remember to follow me in the post-Tumblr wasteland at my new places of business:
PIXIV ACCOUNT
TWITTER ACCOUNT
Do you have another social media account where you post? Tumblr apocalypse and all that, you know.
Okay, so.
As most of you should know by now, Tumblr is nuking all visual NSFW content on December 17th. Its algorithms have already flagged most of my posts, which means they will likely be deleted entirely after that date. I will upload a couple more posts in the meantime, but past that point this blog will be officially defunct.
This is obviously a blow, though in no way as hard as what users losing tens of thousands of followers and a direct source of income are going to endure. My own personal use of this platform was always pretty limited: I never used Tumblr to make friends, post memes, or vent about my many neuroses. I pretty much never reblogged anything. This space was just a public sketchbook with an appealingly simple posting mechanic, and the convenient option to receive asks in complete anonymity.
If you care to keep following my sparse updates, I have gradually been uploading a selection of my accumulated portfolio (both SFW and NSFW) to a PIXIV PAGE, despite the platform’s posting interface and tagging system being a giant kick in the groin.
I had also opened a Twitter account set up to automatically bounce all my Pixiv posts, but it was shut down after a bare 48 hours of activity, so fuck ‘em. Sorry, folks. I’ll reconsider and give it a second try if enough of you ask for it (which is unlikely, given the audience participation I get on average), but for the time being it’s not a priority.
As far as other platforms go, like many others I’ll be keeping a hopeful eye on Pillowfort as the situation develops. Given my increasing lack of options I will also give Patreon some more thought, but I honestly don’t think that’s a viable model for someone with such an inconsistent posting schedule.
It’s been fun, you guys. Thanks a bunch for liking my stuff.
See you around.
Behold, the Iron Lass mark III! Code name... Woof Machine??
I felt I had to throw together something for 4/13, so here you go. Goes with my two earlier efforts on the same subject, obviously.
I’m still sifting through old, old sketches to see if there’s something worth posting.
This was a drawing of Camicazi from the How to Train your Dragon book series, the same character depicted in much cartoonier fashion in this other doodle.
Honestly this was a pretty good sketch, despite a couple problems. I may take another stab at it sooner rather than later.
A Hellboy sketch.
Mignola’s work was one of the few truly excellent things to come out of 1990s American comics, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the big red guy himself.
I’m really curious to see what the upcoming film reboot can do with (and for) the character, although I must confess that with digital effects being what they are today, I kinda wish they got over the rubber musclesuit idea and instead used motion capture to give us a page-accurate Hellboy who’s not bound to the all-too-human physical proportions of a real-life actor, the way they did in Injustice 2.
Quick doodle of Mina, from My Hero Academia. Of all the girls in the manga I think her costume most definitely isn’t the most interesting, which is really a shame since she’s a really fun character otherwise. I guess her power set is showy enough that she doesn’t require any extra visual flair.
Years ago I entertained this notion of setting up my own running webcomic. In the end the whole thing played out rather hilariously, as the whole affair turned out to be a case of mistaken identity: I had actually been thinking about an alternate reality version of myself who’s not a good-for-nothing fuckup all along!
Anyway, this is a sketch from way back then, featuring the same character already seen in scrap form here.
A simple sketch of Nanachi, from Made in Abyss. That dang anime be fucked up, yo.
She knocks crime off the table of justice. She’s the padded paw of the law. She is... the Olive Rogue!!
An updated version of my original design for Nepeta’s superheroic purrsona from one of @drhicks76‘s NSFW fanfics, with a couple new ideas thrown into the mix. I got this notion of treating the claw mark pattern on her costume as actual slashes in the fabric exposing the underlying skin (not that you can tell from the lineart alone) and while I was at it I decided to add the classic Power Girl boob window because I’m amused by the idea of applying it to a character with no cleavage whatsoever.
I like the anatomy and the general silliness here but the pose and composition came out a bit stiff, compared to the light-hearted dynamism of the original drawing. I may revisit this for a third try sooner rather than later.
Second of four character designs for a friend’s Homestuck-based, alt-reality RP campaign.
One of four character designs for a friend’s Homestuck-based, alt-reality RP campaign.
Abandoned cartoony sketch for @lava-flows-in-you (careful: NSFW), featuring her original character India Ink.
I sort of just dropped it and went with this instead (again: mild nudity). I’m not entirely sure why.
I guess I’ll start posting a couple old, unpublished things over the course of the next few days, before getting to a couple new sketches.
This was to be one of six main character designs for the same Pathfinder RPG campaign for which I drew this map here. The prospective campaign quickly derailed and this ended up being the only design I actually got to draw before it all fell apart.
This was supposed to be a hand-to-hand fighter type using a cestus and a dagger as his main weapons. Since the setting was to be very sea-centric and the character was supposed to have a sailor’s background, I threw in a net-inspired visual motif referencing both fishermen and the retiarius gladatorial style.
He was supposed to have extensive tattoos on his shoulders and arms, but that was to be added directly in colour and we never got to that point. All in all a decent design, I think, but if given the option I’d have changed the hair.
An abandoned Harley Quinn sketch. I mainly didn’t like the way her back twisted.
Unpublished sketch for a later, never-written chapter of the @aspaceformyheart parody blog (careful, NSFW).
The notion of a humongous, insane bow for either Equius, Arquiusprite or Darkleer always sounded entertaining to me, so I pitched this design for a ridiculous industrial bow that could only be drawn with the equivalent force of a hydraulic press. I imagine the released bolt would fly off as if fired from a ballista.
I can’t deny I had my fun with the design, from the (admittedly botched) spring coils to the guitar tuning pegs for the obviously-steel wire, to the arrow fletching shaped like Dirk’s sun shades to echo Arquiusprite’s shit glyph.
