these are from (as far as i can tell) toudoukan's facebook post advertising hikaru shida's first independent produce event おしり列車でGO！ [let's go by a hip train! (this seems to be the english name featured on merch [1] [2]—the literal translation for おしり is butt, though we've seen ass-based moves referred to as "hip attacks" in wrestling so this is nothing new. euphemisms and such. there is also a game series produced by square enix called 電車でGO！！ that i'm pretty sure this is a play on.)]

anyway this is the press conference before the show in tokyo featuring hikaru shida & masato tanaka vs kana (asuka) & kenny omega as the main event (more about the card on cagematch). the osaka show on the other hand featured shida (2014 pro wrestling wave women's champion) and kana (2011 pro wrestling wave women's champion) in a singles match as the main event! [x]

what is this event? it was a two-show event promoting shida's upcoming gravure dvd release titled 濡尻 [wet butt]. you can see the front and back covers for the dvd here if you want a teaser. shida also mentioned in an interview prior that she considers her butt to be her "biggest" weapon—both in and out the ring. you can find more info about the event and specifically this show via these [1] [2] blog posts (in japanese) published by the joshi magazine ringstars

the purpose of the event (aside from purely promoting shida's dvd) could be summarized as one celebrating liberation. mature content has always had connections to the puro scene, more specifically joshi wrestling, with many idols participating in similar gravure shoots or even more explicit pornography (since gravure in itself is more suggestive than anything—you can read a bit more on that here). it was a big move for shida to become a freelancer and have the chance to do something like this ☆＾▽＾☆

thanks for the shoutout for my thread and reference for some of this @noahikari! it always delights me when ppl go through the effort of putting this kind of information out there, bc unfortunately preservation in wrestling has become a real problem not just for matches, and clout chasers among other factors on different sites make it harder and harder to find accurate information and original sources.

(also the celebration of sexuality is important and i love how you made a specific point about that)
