kennedy was born in manchester, england as the only child of katherine monroe and daniel sumner. their family moved to the united states when kennedy was twelve close to where their mother’s family was in new york. however, every christmas would be spent back in manchester with their dad’s family.
was a very sporty kid ( was in the girl’s varsity soccer team as a striker ) but also thoroughly enjoyed writing and was even a writer for her high school’s paper during her entire stay.
moved back to the uk for university. they studied journalism in leeds and on their last year there met the love of their life. after graduating, they both moved to new york and shared a flat there for four years, during which they decided to get married.
however, as their careers grew, the more difficult their relationship had gotten. kennedy turned out to be a bit of a workaholic, came home late at night and left early in the morning, and whenever they were around, they were usually typing away at their laptop trying to make a deadline.
this negligence in their relationship, among other things, had caused the pair to drift apart.
an opportunity came for kennedy to take a job as a writer for bbc news, and the couple thought they could revitalize their relationship through a change in environment. which kind of worked, for a while, until it didn’t, and they were back in their old ways.
the final straw was a mutual agreement between them to try opening their relationship to other people, but that only further proved that maybe it was time to call it quits.
on the summer of 2021, both kennedy and their wife had agreed to split. kennedy moved in with their cousin rita in hampstead heath while their wife kept their flat. getting a divorce would mean traveling back to new york to process the documents, of which neither are quite ready to do yet.
