The “Now What?” Months are here! In 2014, we’ll be bringing you advice from authors who published their NaNo-novels, editors, agents, and more to help you polish November’s first draft until it gleams. Today, Allison VanNest, from Grammarly, highlights some common grammar mistakes:

For many writers, each November is a new chance to write a complete novel—at least 50,000 words in 30 days—during National Novel Writing Month. In 2013, Grammarly joined the fray with GrammoWriMo, a group novel project. Together, nearly 300 participants wrote more than 130,000 words.

As you know by now, the breakneck nature of NaNoWriMo leaves very little time for editing. To reach the goal, every writer needs to put at least 1,667 words on the page every day. The resulting rough draft is, in many cases, really rough.

When Grammarly crunched the GrammoWriMo group novel in our automated proofreading program, we discovered a ton of comma confusion and grammar goofs. Here are our top five mistakes (and how you can avoid them):

Last song: Since I am obssessed with Inside - by Bo Burnham, I just listened to one of his songs All Eyes On Me but I may have been listening to the rest of his singles in his channel since I woke up. Ben Platt’s Rain and So Will I are thrown in there too 

Currently reading: I haven’t read any literary pieces to share but I read Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga and it was great. Like I’ve been seeing it around and watched the anime when it was finally available in Netflix; well placed popularity if I may say. The manga is impeccable too. I already had a heartbreak reading through it Spoiler alert! so there’s that. Hope it doesn’t end like bleach (Still on-going). 🎾 On tenipuri’s side I read the New prince of tennis lol, I have some residual need of tenipuri content but it isn’t as bad now. 

Currently watching: Doom at your service, it’s a K-drama. I recommend it but I can’t give away anything because the 1st episode says it best. I did rewatch Inside by Bo burnham too again for the 6th time so... if you wanna see that too. A lot of trigger warnings though so watch with caution. 

Sweet/spicy/savory: Spicy 🍽️ . I just love it because it just gives the food more Unfff hahah Spicy goes well with sweet and savory. 

Tea or coffee: Tea 🍵. I just prefer drinks that can be fruity and light. Coffee also makes me sleepy.

By the way if any random people that follows me, is an Ichihime shipper, I don’t hate you but if you think that ending make sense and you think it should’ve been them in the end. I’m telling you, you are wrong and you know in the bottom of your heart it’s bullshit. Even Orihime in the manga knows that. 

The only reason why people are keeping receipts of Ichihime it’s because you DO have to prove that them ending together make sense, because the entire manga besides the few pages in the ending was and is Ichiruki
