“Oh, that sounds exciting! Does that mean I might be seeing you on TV anytime?” She smiled widely, knowing how much that meant to journalists, at least to some who wished to do news. “That’s amazing, I’ll keep an eye out for that. My mom loves watching weekend news, so mark my words: you’ll have a fan soon enough.” Vivian said emphatically, picturing the older woman freaking out if Kent ever showed up at the restaurant. “You sound excited, that’s what matters.” She smiled, nodding.
“Maybe,” Kent mused since he, himself, wasn’t able to confirm or deny it yet. He really did hope he’d be able to be a lead anchor for the weekend news because it the next step before becoming lead anchor. Then he’d maybe start looking at some national or global stations where he could continue to let his wings fly without stepping on the toes’ of his parents and their connections. “That is really kind,” Kent said as he looked down to look at is plate to hopefully hide the slightly flushed cheeks that heated up with the kind words she spoke. Kent could never take a compliment so it was odd to see him so comfortable in front of a camera. “That is very true.”
