Intro post time!

Hello, everyone, I'm Nicc, I've been around a bit but only now did I get to actually making an alt where I post about dr because I just felt weird about posting about it on my main

As the name implies, I'll be mainly talking a lot but I might time to time post art- no promises though!

So uh, DNI for the obvious, I will block if you do also, the less obvious, if you're actively furious about Berdly and always make a point of excluding him from everything I won't like you, sorry, and you won't like me!

I don't have a tagging system in mind yet but I'm gonna try to work something out! not really good at tagging my things oops

it's kinda funny how poly brained I've become cuz I'll see like 2 characters I liked paired up and be like "where's the other partners" like they're always required to all show up

like I know they're not obv and like I have to remember that sometimes but Idk. like I do like suzberd a lot but at one point I go like "where's Noelle and Kris and Ralsei" in whatever order like HNKFJLHFLKFJ

okay so I'm def not the first one to talk about the odd blood types question

A, AB, B, C and D

and so like. I've been thinking. We'll probably know by the end but I think it's different ending variations

where A is recruit route where you get everyone, B is lakeskip where I think there is a point of no return, AB that's I think when you fail lakeskip hence the presence of the B because it's last second abandoned

now C and D.

I think either or but one is when you abort in ch4 and the other is when you abort in ch2/neutral route, Idk which would be which

and like I know a lot of people like to like. conspire about sword route but I. Idk? if that's? a real? thing? that'd become a route at least

more and more I sit on it I'm just. not sure. same way how I keep coming back to Ralsei either being a manifestation of the prophecy or like a dark reflection of us the SOUL. like nothing conventional fits him because he just appears wherever needed, even without Kris around so he can't be physically tied to them like that (dark reflection of SOUL to me doesn't mean the soul has to be present, it just has to exist somewhere in the world. unless it's confirmed at some point that Ralsei has been around longer than us, then I'd probably be team prophecyRalsei)

but yeah me thinking sword route is. not actually a thing is def my most controversial opinion I guess considering how much people like to talk about it since chapter 3

either way it's fun how "only one ending" the game is open to so many possibilities and whatever tricky tony goes for I just hope it's satisfying

More than a month later, and I'm still not over what we did to Berdly in the Weird Route.

BTW, I decided to try out the weird route, but I think I made a wrong step somewhere. I don't know why. It's just a hunch.

because like. I feel like I would like. affirm these people? despite it just being a thing I want to explore. but they would take it as a sign of me making him this overpowered crazy ass guy who is like everything ever and that demotivates me so badly like. Feeling like I'm like. confirming their bias and that All Big Berdly Fans Are Like That and hypotheticals tend to scare me a whole lot

like it's been hard finding motivation to get anything done when I had like. so many ideas on how it all would be like but just these kinda thoughts kinda get it all down

idea of Berdly in weird route where he comes back as an ambient spirit instead of hunting the 2 down

imagine him...... his last moments bringing such """"JOY"""" to his friends he could only understand when he's seen everything. If he wasn't such a prominent obstacle, used for a beautiful spectale, his friends wouldn't have found freedom in ways he never could've imagined

and so the wind howls in a sharp yet warm way

but of course he isn't truly happy, he is full of many feelings, living through forever snow, fogging his mind but the silhuette of his friends at the lake just could not simply not get past into his snowy fog

or whatever Idk I'm kinda all over the place rn

Deltarune fans when the Kris carries their comatose friend from the library all the way to the hospital after being the one forced to give the order that caused him to be in this condition by an otherworldly being, only to get brought back to the hospital by the same entity as if to mock them, but uses this opportunity to care for him, and this potentially being the last time they ever see him before they drown in the lake, and having to deal with the knowledge that Berdly's last thoughts about them were that they were hurting the person he cares for most in the world:

everyday it feels funny to me when people are like "Kris lets the weird route happen" or "Noelle enjoyed killing Berdly" when they are both very much suicidal teenagers who are in their own way lashing out

like I did notice that with Noelle people are more likely to understand this but for some reason Kris in the weird route for ppl is either "ohhhhh they're so against it they're kicking and screaming against it" or "they're a huge pervert who is into this weird stuff" and like that's. so anti-thetical to their character

for one, they do have some tendency to violence, like. let's not forget the egg. Aqua and like even if she's an overexaggeration it still comes from a place. which I'm pretty sure they know is bad about themself, they probably have a lot of self loathing about it. meanwhile that's pushed in the background in the weird route, they're almost backseating. And like you have to remember they're kinda most controlled in fights n like. when they come down from it all they are indeed terrified, kinda like Noelle, seeing the reality of it all and you can push her back and she doubles down. I feel like Kris is kinda like that too we just don't hear them say so. Like god forbid they have complex feelings about killing their mutual friend making them feel powerful or scared yet curious or like they've stumbled on something forbidden in the moment like. cmon. Toby is giving such tasty tasty confliction and yet

part of me is like maybe it's all Berdly's fault that he is the way that he is, no matter how sad

and then I remember this is some twitter user's opinion and so many parents have been shown in the game so why not his? why do we not see his parents? not even in the weird route? the route where even Queen, someone who runs away from him is searching for him?

but y'know it must mean nothing because he has misogynistic tendencies and is an asshole so obviously it's all his fault and that's like. so funny, right? I mean cmoonnnnnn no way he could have like. bad parents right like. c'mon, what are you, a man's apologist? that is so lame. besides. wouldn't the story have said it. wouldn't it have said it if he was neglected in some way like wooowwwww you want him to be a most tortured boy sooooo badddd which he is NOT btw why are you Projectingggggg /s

like honestly........... the main thing is how often I would update it............ because honest to god I'd. write the whole thing in advance then I'd space it out how I'd want to space it out

because. I want to take advantage of how fanfics can work in their environement, like a love letter to how Toby does it for games yknow?

and because I do see an ending for ego route...... that is more Berdly than Noelle like. as I said, it's about him, it's not just a simple switch characters around

also I keep thinking about abandoned ego route where Berdly uh

okay so I don't plan to write it but if you abandon it past chapter 3 he would become a goner lowk. like he would be ripped from the game, as if he never existed and the. game would go on without him. rubbing his insignificance into his face past death or something like that Idk

it's so bothersome I couldn't focus all day and stuff hits me again at almost 1 AM

the biggest thing is I'm like so scared of getting things wrong cuz like. that's lame but like I gotta know info stufffssss I gotta like. finish chapter 1 to see first hand how it feels to go into chap 2, what do you have, cuz like. I do wanna take the game into account quite a lot considering. what happens and I'm still thinking on how I wanna pace it out. considering. latter parts..............

what to do, do I share some silly silly stuff for ego route drawings wise (I have a better thing now than the previous) or wait until I can actually write for it and so I would share no more spoilers

Ngl, I'm really distressed by the new wave of amatonormativity in the Deltarune fandom in the form of people who are seemingly arguing that Kris will never truly be happy if their relationship with Susie remains nonromantic.

Not only does it belittle what other romantic connections they could have (i.e. with Ralsei, Catti, Berdly, etc), it also reinforces the toxic notion that (queer)platonic love and relationships can never be equally fulfilling as romantic love and relationships. And that's especially hurtful for me to hear as someone who is aroace.

And don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently wrong at all with shipping Kris with Susie romantically and/or arguing that they will end up in a romantic relationship with her by the end of Chapter 7. There's a difference, however, between doing and then going out of your way to suggest that Kris's life would be ruined or that their relationship with Susie would be devalued if Susie chooses not to be in a romantic relationship with them.
