IMPORTANT! Announcement about invites, DMs

TLDR: All further communications about the Kerdly Big Bang will be done by email or through Discord.

Unfortunately, Tumblr has auto-filtered out the entire mod team's messages as spam, which means we are not able to send or receive DMs on Tumblr. We have sent an appeal to Tumblr last week, but there have been no fixes to our DMs yet.

We are still in the process of sending out invites to our Discord server. If you haven't received one yet, then please check the email you used on the application form in the next few days.

If you have questions about the Big Bang, our askbox is still open, but more specific inquiries will be handled on our Discord server or by email. Our email is [email protected].

We apologise for the confusion and delay, and appreciate your patience as we navigate this situation! As a result of this, we will extend to the deadline to join the server to October 29th.

Kerdly Big Bang Sign-ups!!!

We now have just over a week left before sign-ups close for the Kerdly Big Bang. Sign-ups will close on the 15th, and after that, invitations will be sent out for the Discord server, and then we can finally get properly started!

As stated before, there is more information about what a Big Bang is on this blog, but in short, it is a community event centered around a certain topic or fandom that involves creating a fic and accompanying art pieces. We’re all very excited to see what comes out of this event!

We still would love some more writers, but, again, we’re open to anyone else to join.

Heyo!! Just had a silly question,when in the google forms when it if people want more roles (and if they take like beta reader and then also want to be a artist) since it gonna be until October and people mind can changes before then could you add unsure to the question “are you taking on more roles” I’m sure some people mind are going to change to be like “I kinda want to be a artist and a write but I just said no on the form”

This is a great question! The main point of the form is to find out who wants to participate at all in the event, so if someone’s mind changes about what role they take, that’s perfectly fine. The roles on the form are entirely fluid, your actual preferences aren’t due until writer summaries are due, which is currently the 15th of November and do not need to be worried about until the event actually starts.

Sign-ups are now open!

First of all, happy ten years to Undertale! Second of all, the first Kerdly Big Bang's sign-ups are now open!

For those unaware, a Big Bang is a fandom event in which a writer, artist, and beta reader are paired together to create a work with accompanying art for a specific fandom or pairing within a fandom.

In this case, this Big Bang is Kerdly-themed, if it wasn't already obvious. Anyone can sign up, no matter the skill level in any of the three realms mentioned above, and you can sign up to make as many works or art pieces as you want. Just keep in mind, the lower limit for fics is at least 1k words and for art is at least a polished, colored sketch. This must all be completed by April 15th, 2026, which is when posting week will begin. Writers, you are allowed to start working on ideas before anything gets started, however, once everything kicks off, you are not permitted to share sneak-peaks outside of the event.

Alright, let's get started!

A few weeks back, I ( @berd-cage ) made a poll about possibly starting a Kerdly Big Bang, and, as a result of that poll, I've chosen to go forward with it.

For those unaware, a Big Bang is a multiple-month-long fandom event in which a writer, beta reader, and artist are paired together to create a fanfiction and some accompanying art. Typically, the writers put forward summaries, estimated lengths, and generally ideas, and the betas and artists claim their writer based on that.

This Big Bang will hopefully start around October, and, judging from others that I've participated in, end in around March-April. These are just very loose estimates, however, and very subject to change.

However, like any event, it can't be run by one person alone. So, I am opening applications for other mods!

Considering this is my first event that I'm helping manage, I would prefer to have applicants with at least a little bit of experience to help things run better, but I am open to any sort of help.

If you want to apply, send a direct message (not an ask) to this blog with some information about your event management experience, your Discord account, and your experience in the Kerdly community in general!

A heads-up, mods can still participate in the Big Bang as writers, artists, or betas, but they would also be helping with organizing dates and teams, checking on progress, and, of course, moderating discussion and possible conflict, so keep your workload in mind.

Anyways, I hope that we can get this event on its feet and create something incredible together!
