#Transwoman on the rise...watch out #Hollywood here I come.

Come stand with us and raise your voices!!! #TransLivesMatter #StopKillingUs!

After the brutal murders/attacks of Aniya "Ray Ray" Parker, Jennifer Laude, Gypsie Gul and the transgender woman in Bushwick (I do not know her name yet) it has become clear that "Hate Crimes" against transwomen is on the rise. Lets come together LA both Transpeople and allies to raise our voices together united against this rampant hate. For way too long our community has hid as our people are targeted and killed off one by one. We need to show the world that we will not let these monsters quietly kill off our sisters. See to me each and every trans person is my family regardless of the color of our skin. Each and everyone!!! Regardless of where we come from!! Regardless of how much money we have!! Regardless of what we must do to feed and clothe ourselves!! Each and everyone of us is precious and courageous because we were born into a world that says we do not exist a world that says we don't belong yet we find the strength to defy what they think and be our AUTHENTIC SELVES. I love each and everyone of my sisters and brothers for our beauty ...our strength!! Hope to see all of you there!! Yes this is a call to action!! We will be hearing from community leaders such asE. Jaye Johnson, Karina Samala, Chandi Moore, myself, and a few others I am still working on bringing to the rally. We will also have live actostic song from Lora G Lunden and Nikki Lunden from Lunden Reign and a few other artists I am working on. I will keep everyone posted. Much Love!! xx #WEMATTER #TRANSLIVESMATTERÂ
Stop Killing Us!!! Trans Lives Matter!!!
Aniya "Ray Ray" Parker's
Vigil/Memorial Sunday evening. This memorial was hard for me because while I agree we should celebrate each and everyone of each others lives I am mad...I am angry...I am hurt that Hate Crimes keep taking our sisters from us. So while the song "God Made me as I am" was being sung the tears flowed yet in my heart a fire was being stoked. A fire that is burning brightly and hot!! We can not just sit in our comfortable and safe environments and watch the news as more and more of us are being slaughtered. We MUST come TOGETHER EACH and EVERYONE of us and stand against this evil that is consuming and destroying the lives of our people!!!! We have to show them the big picture....that this is a world wide epidemic happening against a tiny minority within a minority within a minority. I am all about peace and love but when people attack and hurt my people I am a lioness. So it is with this in my heart that I say come stand with our sisters and brothers that have been taken from us as we send a message out into the world that WE MATTER and we will NOT let them keep turning a head against the truth. We want justice, we to live our lives without constant worry about someone killing us because we are transgender, we want the government and police to take the murdering of transwomen seriously and hunt these hate mongers down like the animals they are!!! JUSTICE FOR RAY RAY!!!!! I am currently working on setting a date for a protest, a stand against this hate. Will you come take a stand with us?
Preparing for Dia de los Muertos and remembering all the loss of life this year in the community and out. The alarming number of  TWOC that have been murdered this year was at the front of my mind. I started making them memorial candles.
They are not forgotten and never will be.Â
89% of LGBTQ murders in 2013 were of Trans women of color.Â
I pray that when you are signing petitions and marching for Trayvon, Mike Brown, gay marriage, and abortion rights to remember that statistic. These women and SO SO many othersâŚ.. are gone. Due to hatred and bigotry.  Stand up for our sisters. ALL women . ALL women of color.Â
Hi, I work with a group called TransYouth Speak, and we make social media for social justice campaigns. Are you in Los Angeles by chance? If so, I would love to meet with you and learn more about your work. I would also like to tell you more about our group. Thanks !! Lia
Yes I live in the Hollywood area. That would be wonderful. You can get a hold of me through email at [email protected] Have a wonderful day.
TW: Transmisogyny, murder - Aniya Parker & the epidemic of violence against trans women of color October 7, 2014
Mourners in and around Los Angeles are remembering Aniya Parker, a 47-year-old transgender woman who was violently killed in East Hollywood last week.
Parker was fatally shot at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday during what police have reported as a robbery. Surveillance footage of Parkerâs death has circulated widely across the Internet, showing two to four suspects surrounding her before one punches her and then shoots her in the head as she tries to flee.
Many observers arenât buying the policeâs assertion that Parkerâs killing was the result of a robbery gone wrong. âThis was not a robbery, in fact, they left the purse behind,â Mary Zeiser of Hollywood told ABC7 news. âThis is a cold-blooded hate crime and this type of violence needs to end.â
Less than 48 hours after her death, Parkerâs supporters held a memorial in her honor. Her friends and family are now trying to raise $15,000 for funeral expenses, which include transporting her body back to her home state of Arkansas.Â
Parkerâs death is another example of what seems like nothing short of an epidemic of violence targeting transgender women of color. Sheâs is the eighth transgender woman of color to be killed since the beginning of June, according to the Anti-Violence Project. Sheâs also the second to be killed in Los Angeles in recent months; 28-year-old Zoraida Reyesâs body was found in a parking lot behind an Orange County Dairy Queen on June 12th. Transgender women of color face disproportionately higher rates of hate violence than other members of the LGBT community, according to researchers. In fact, a 2013 report from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs found that LGBT people of color were nearly twice as likely to experience physical violence than their white counterparts. Transgender women made up 67 percent of anti-LGBT homicides in 2013, according to the Anti-Violence Project.
