Not a question, but I really wanted to share that I got my first shot today! Only 5 more weeks until I'm immortal! (that's how that works, right?)

Just found out that I'm getting the same vaccine and 2nd shot on the same day as Wil Wheaton. I felt like I should share that.

Who are the real sheep?

A little over a year since the pandemic hit our shores and the anti-maskers are as rabid as they’ve ever been. There hasn’t been any slowdown in their “fight for their freedoms.”

Anti-maskers think they’re the lions who have it all figured out and the rest of us are sheep, standing by as let the government controls our lives. It’s sad that a year later they haven’t awakened to the fact that they are the actual sheep.

There are people in power (not everyone but a sizable portion) that want you to focus on the mask requirements. While you’re arguing with the Trader Joe’s assistant manager about covering your face to buy organic baby spinach, the government is free to do things you aren’t paying any attention to. They can pass any law they want (remember the Patriot Act?). Officer Go Fuck Yourself is free to step on necks and murder people. Fox News has you crying about the people fighting this oppression, which you go along with because, dammit, you have to deal with this cloth over your face AND your nose.

This segment of powerful people wants you to fight this common-sense requirement. If you spread the disease, who suffers the most? It’s the elderly, lower-income households, and people of color. They’re the ones who suffer and die, and that’s what this vein of the powerful desire. Elderly people receive social security. Lower-income households receive assistance. This is money the powerful want for military and tax cuts. People of color demand equal rights. This threatens the white people who loathe the idea of an African American on the same ground as them.

If you’re an anti-masker, you’re not fighting the system, you’re being used by the system. Do you think the government wasn’t aware of their power before Covid-19? They own the guns, the tanks, the planes, the bombs, the courts. They don’t need a disease to grab the power they already possess. They need you to help them maintain that power. The ones who don’t care aren’t telling you to be anti-mask to give you freedom. They’re telling you that to keep you from your freedom.

You’re the sheep.
