Final Project Artist Statement

For this project I wanted to do something that signified what I was about. Something that had my taste, something that fit me the best. I feel that this picture signifies that. I have been a part of the broadcast program at Metro ever since I came to the school and when I did it changed my career path to the world of broadcasting. Thus picture was taken at my final show so it signifies where I have been, where I currently am, and where I hope to go. One day I hope to be a sports anchor and here you can see me in the TV, the camera, with the teleprompter, and the anchor desk. And I also just thought the black and white added in a cool touch.

4D Proposal

Final project for 4D Design.

After thinking about this for awhile I think the best thing to would be to do something that I love to do. What is that? For me it's broadcasting sports. For years I have been a part of the news station at Metro State called The Met Report and we go live every Friday and we have a normal news cast with news, weather, entertainment, and sports. I started out as a sports reporter and then because the sports producer, then Assistant GM, and now the GM. So I think I want to do something to capture my four years there.

I could either take a picture that tells the story of it or take a video that does the same thing. Take a picture from my point of view as a broadcaster or take a video that showcases what goes on in the studio. I want to be a sports broadcaster in my life so some possible title ideas could be “Past, Present and Future” or “The Life of a Broadcaster”.

As long as I can capture what my time there meant to me then this project will be a success.

Project #5:

For this performance I took part in the Arcade Fire concert during their song "Here Comes the Night Time". I wanted to get peoples reaction to the environment around them and it sure was one hell of an environment

When I first read the passage, the parts that stuck out to me was about the origin of art, talking about the shadows and the projections onto the walls. That made me think of silhouettes and what better way to show than through music. The way the shadows, the music, and the black and white images all go together makes the whole video seem to flow very well. The name of the song "This Place is Haunted" also goes along with the same theme because it looks like the shadows are the ghosts of musicians pas. The way the shadows, the music, and the black and white images all go together makes the whole video seem to flow very well.

So it was good timing that I was making a video for my dad the same time so here is a video of his flight in a biplane set to Arcade Fire's "Keep the Car Running"
