Up close.
It just wasn't easy and it's still not.
New world order 2000 is where we stand.
Fine
It's has always been about brainstorming a concept for a photo shoot but on this collection I relied on my feelings. HOPE YOU'LL ENJOY THESE. <3

Opening this season with this project in collaboration with my longest friend ofentse mpumomelelo manganye.
It was after school where by we agreed to visit the thrift store near our school. On our way there we normally talk about things we currently need, mostly it's t-shirts but we never buy them we normally buy 1/2 then off to other nicer things. Once we enter the shop we had placed our bags on the door. The ladies of that shop think we might steal some things because of the bad reputation that our school had gained from the past years by school learners who used to do unnecessary things with school uniform on. We were used to it though, every shop we entered people had their eagle eyes on us. Now it was time to get fresh merchandise, first 15min in there we'd thought that there was nothing for us till we saw two pollar necks with stripes. I have never saw something like this and I think it was the first time we had agreed on something (clothi'caly) because through the years our styles had switched over to other levels so to me it was something special to experience that feeling that I haven't felt in a while. THAT'S HOW THIS CONCEPT CAME ABOUT.

STRIPES.
For hundreds of years, stripes have been used in clothing. Striped clothing has frequently had negative symbolism in Western cultures.
The graphic and repetitive pattern, defined simply as ‘a long, narrow band or strip differing in colour or texture from the surface on either side of it’ is universal in its appeal.
Stripes have the power to make a surface highly distinguishable, when it comes to clothing, explains why the pattern wasn’t always held in such high regard. According to my research a black and white stripe was once the uniform of the detainee; once upon a time it was even a pattern which, could have you killed.
At that time, striped clothing was considered 'demeaning or clearly diabolic' and was worn by social outcasts, such as prostitutes, jugglers, clowns and cripples. It is also believed that during the ’60s and ’70s, more and more people started to wear striped shirts as the garment was seen as a symbol of rebellion.
