“Well, the only way I can think of is for us to stay here and keep an eye out for Zella. Since she’s bouncing around the many worlds faster than I can even track her, it’d be easiest for us to stay in this world and wait for her to inevitably arrive.”

“Yea. That’s about right. Though I have a unique ability, and so does Zella. I have the ability to, cooldowns aside, freely open and go through Corridors of Darkness, which is how I arrived here in the first place. Zella herself has a wide range of unique abilities, such as her ability to wield a ‘Keyblade’, one of the most versatile weapons I know of.”

She let out a sigh, a bit of a growl slipping through. “It can do things like open doors to other worlds and unlock any door, as well as transform into things such as a vehicle, all of which makes tracking her a wild goose chase all over the multiverse that could take ages.”

[⚡] And that was where she lost him. He didn’t understand what she said next, but it sounded cool. A Keyblade was a new term to him. He had never heard of such a thing before, but the power to travel to different places seemed neat.

“I see. So that’s what you two are doing? Traveling to different places looking for something?”

“Well, Zella’s leaping through worlds to try and figure out why these things called Heartless are appearing all over Lactecia. I’m going after her because... well... Let’s just say I’m not the only one looking for her. There’s many that’d go to great lengths to gain access to a Keyblade...” She let out a low growl. “... Including the one that dumped her off in the Mirage Ruins to begin with, all because she ‘couldn’t keep up with the team’.”

She sat down and closed her eyes. “Well, what elemental affinity we have is tied to whichever of the five stars of Latecia we’re born under. Each one represents a different element, those being Fire, Water, Wood, Light, and Dark. Both me and Zella were born under the star of darkness.”

She opened her eyes again, looking directly at Keme. “Really, there are only known cases of a Woolf being born under the light or darkness stars, which are generally seen as more powerful, while those like a Miho can be born under any of them.”

[⚡] He sat down too as the Woolf began to tell him more about Astromon. Keme blinked in puzzlement at what she told him. He didn’t fully understand, but in a way, he did. They were elemental creatures too that had powers based on were they were born. At least, that was how he understood it. “Oh, I see. That makes sense actually. So you’re like a Dark-type then since you can control the darkness,” he mused, trying to put it together in a way he better understood.

“Dang it… Sorry, I ask because one of my friends, Zella, got herself flung to some other reality, and I’ve been looking for her all over the place. If she isn’t here yet, it’s only a matter of time before she ends up here.” her ear twitched upon hearing the term “Cremon” for the first time.

“Ah.. So that’s what this universe’s version of Astromon are called. You see, we aren’t too different, given that we’re both different versions of the same dominant species. For example, I’m a Woolf, a type of Astromon. My friend, Zella, is a Miho, another type of Astromon.”

[⚡] The mouse blinked curiously at that, tilting his head to one side as he listened to the she-wolf speak. He gave a nod to show that he was listening. So Nova was looking for one of her friends? It seemed like this happened a lot given how casual the Astromon spoke about the ordeal. His ear twitched as he listened to her explain to him what Astromon were. In a way, it did sound like Cremon, being an animal of some sort with magical powers no doubt. He didn’t think there were any creatures out there that were like them. “That’s really cool,” he chimed to Nova. “Do you have an element that’s your type? I’m an Electric-type, so my main attacks are electric-themed, but I can do other things that’s non-electric.”

May as well see if she can get some information out of this guy. Who knows? Maybe Zella has already been through here. “Would a young girl with fox ears and a tail have passed through here, recently,” she inquired, keeping her gaze locked onto the mouse.

“By the way, my name is Nova, and I’m an Astromon.”

[⚡] The Denachu paused as he thought over the question for a moment. A girl with fox ears and a tail…. He hadn’t seen anyone like that roaming around the forest. He was sure he would have remembered seeing such a strange thing. “I haven’t seen anyone like that, sorry,” he replied, shaking his head. “It’s nice to meet you, Nova. My name’s Keme. I’m a Denachu—a type of Cremon. What’s an Astromon? Is it a new type of Cremon?”

May as well try to be civil while she was looking for Zella so she could give the Miho a whack over the head for her stupidity. Standing up from her defensive stance, she looked at the Denachu.

“Hello there,” the Woolf greeted.

[⚡] Keme jumped, startled when the canine suddenly spun around to face him. She must have sensed him approaching her. The mouse gave a friendly smile to the wolf as she greeted him. He waved a paw to her as he nodded in greeting in return. “Hello to you too.”

[⚡] It was yet another normal day in the forest. Quiet, peaceful, nothing really was happening. Nothing interesting anyway. Or so he thought. The mouse paused when he came across a canine in the middle of the woods. What in the world was that? He’d never seen a Cremon like her before.

Nova’s ear twitched before she spun around, looking straight at the Cremon. ... Must be this universe’s version of Astromon.
