Every man deserves trust, but not all of them are examples.
“And in everything set them an example yourself by doing what is good. When you are teaching, have integrity and be serious.” Titus 2:7, CJB
A type of man who does not invest most of his time in the computer shop playing (while shouting) with his playmates – Fifa, DOTA, NBA, Counterstrike, and alike; who does not boast about his fantastical body, his health regimen or diet, his every progress in achieving that fantastical body, and his almost-every-second selfie posted on all social media sites (while waiting for his “fans” to like or “heart” it) more frequently than he does his quiet time with God; but a type of man who invests most of his time in the Word of God, waits for His every instruction and revelation, and does every word God tells him to do as he is being transformed into His image from glory to glory – being the man God wants him to be.
A type of man who does not idolize men or women or himself in this generation, who is not insecure with any of his fellow men; but instead, a type of man who sets an example to others in word and in deed. He does not follow the patterns of this world and is brave enough to go against the flow to stand for what is right in God’s sight. A type of man who willingly submits to Christ and copies only His example in love and in sacrifice. He knows who he is in Christ, who he is through Christ, who he is because of Christ, and devotedly follows the footsteps of Christ.
A type of man who leads and encourages, who works hard and who is compassionate – extending a helping hand to the poor, opens his arms to the needy, and putting others first before himself. He is clothed with courage and humility. Speaks with wisdom, authority, yet in gentleness, carefully watches his walk with God to be a living legacy and not a stumbling block. He fears to do wrong and he always hopes in the LORD. Always.
A type of man who is STRONG. Strong na hindi basagulero o war freak na hanap lagi ay gulo at strong na aminin na hindi siya palaging tama. He is strong enough to be tested. Strong enough to kneel before God. Strong enough to accept that he is not yet perfect and that failure is part of life. Strong enough to admit that he is wrong and accept defeat. Strong enough to rise again. Strong enough to surrender to God, knowing that he cannot do it on his own. Strong enough to be merciful. Strong enough to forgive others... and himself. Strong enough to hold on to the promises of God and finish the race. Strong enough to give up his own plans and depend on the Holy Spirit. Strong enough to be sensitive to the feelings of others, not parading nor insisting his own ideals. Strong enough to be consistent. He fights for righteousness and holiness, being at his best at all times not to draw people’s attention to himself but to lead them to Christ.
A type of man who is beautiful not only on the outside, but also on the inside. He does not ONLY depend on expensive clothes or gadgets to gain the approval of the world, but also dressed in humility and contentment, integrity and Christ-like character – radiating the fruit of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control); whose best asset is his FAITH, not his face (hindi lang daw pang-Hollywood ang kagwapuhan kundi pang-Heaven din); who is not insecure of others' status but looks to his mirror and knows his true value: He is fearfully, uniquely, and wonderfully made.
A type of man who does not throw himself at women because he knows he is bought at a price and that price is his Savior Himself. He does not play with romance or sex because he knows that his body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and is made only for his wife (or wife to be). He knows how to wait on God as he gains confidence and self-control. He does not have to find love in mere human being to be complete because Love Himself already found him.
A type of man who has peace, goes to bed without fear that he can lie down and sleep soundly, and steadfast. A type of man who always evaluates his day and aims to be a better man the following day. A man, whose love is greater than his lust; one who desires to be a man after God’s own heart, avoids all vices, and stays away from corrupt speech; one who listens carefully to words of knowledge, and answers gently.
A type of man who is continuously desperate for God, cries out for His presence and asks Him for understanding, as he commits his every step to God and God alone.
A type of man who is a warrior, stands firm with the belt of truth buckled around his waist, breastplate of righteousness in place, takes up the shield of faith, wears the helmet of salvation, feet filled with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, and armed with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God – keeping in mind that Jesus Christ is above him as he is above the woman. He gives his undivided love and attention, being faithful and loyal to “the one” and to “The One.” A man who loves God above all.
A man who focuses himself and fixes his eyes on Jesus is the true mark of a man of integrity and example.
