are you self taught? if so do you have any tips on learning anatomy bc i’m having a rough time and it’s rlly making me lose motivation :’)

Hi! Yes, I’m self taught! Hmm tips regarding anatomy..., I learned anatomy mostly by doing lots of gesture studies with models I found online (I like the 3d ones so if you want some theres a lot at posemaniacs.com and actual models at line-of-action.com) and while drawing not only trying to draw something similar to what I was seeing but actually trying to understand how and why that leg worked that way and that back muscle looking like that and etc, while doing studies with models try to break down why that works! And also try breaking down your process, it might help to understand things better if your looking at small portions of the body at the time instead of trying to understand the body as a whole in the first try (there’s a lot of ways to do that, you can seperate then by forms or simply drawing one part at the time) I think that’s my tip for you! Good luck and remember, no one got better at drawing without lots of hard work!

Hiii!! Thank you so much for these words, I’m so flattered right now?? Like aaaa omg I havent ever imagined someone feeling that way towards my art but!! What inspires me!!

I think I’m moved by how I feel at the time? Like usually my drawings reflect something I’m feeling, something I wanted for myself or just something I wanted to see ilustrated but its usually the other ones. And well that all It’s just who you are in a way? So when I’m drawing something my efforts are to make something that is me, that represents me somehow etc. My art is all some little pieces of me.

But wel I think that inspiration is basically ‘why are you drawing?’, and I draw because everyday all the art that we see daily (all the types of art) makes our lifes better in a way that only you know how, and I wanted to make people feel that too, I wanted to contribute to all that positivity that makes people feel less bad about something that happenned in their day or like to make them feel they are not alone, or to help them overcome some feeling, to make them feel happinness perhaps or even sad but an empathy sad kind of way that helps you in the end etc etc, thats what drives me.

And actual inspirations that helps me like, In my creative process etc are usually a music I’m hearing while I draw that influences how I’m feeling about the drawing in different ways (I listen to all kinds of music but I like more classical, MPB - wich is brazilian popular music -, only instrumental like soundtracks and stuff, and some pop/indie) and right now I’m super into florence’s + the machine newest album!!

From movies the last one that made me feel really inspirated was Kimi no na wa (Your name) but I have a really extense list of favorites...

And other artists at the time I’m into @ cbedfordart,‏segseu, princecanary, rachel_huey88, and bbbreakfastt (all these are on twitter) and a lot of other ones but right now I think these are my ‘go to’ whenever I wanna get inspired?

And I think that’s it? I hope I’ve answered it right!! Have a wonderfull day/night ♥♥
