i still think about that cursed video i recorded where i modded lucanis’s lighthouse theme music to be evanescence’s “bring me to life”. i had no legs for some reason and lucanis glitched and became shirtless when i opened my inventory

i did a little animation player testing tonight for dex on seeing what you could get rook to pose as when going into photomode mid animation. it was a lot of fun! i’m not a good screenshot taker but just doing these makes me so excited to see what you guys end up cooking up with your own screenshots once the animation player is released 💙

so you can apparently make rook do assan animations in Dex’s animation player and it’s just wild to witness. rook’s clearly not rigged for that type of animation so it’s just a cluster of shapes moving fast on the screen and then my poor Saria lost half her body. it was just gone forever. i’m going to say this here now. just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should do it.

and i refuse to answer any possible “bugs” on rook losing half their body. it’s on you for tempting fate 😂

i created a proper video to showcase Dex’s animation player for veilguard. not only can rook serve all sorts of annoyed poses, rook can dance. yes, this is not a drill. rook is dancing 💃🏻

i released some spears because i think they deserve some love and that there’s just not enough spears in the game. there’s 8 different elemental spears to pick from and potentially more to be added in the future.

for any that are curious, we’ve been working really hard in the shadows to allow dex(Veilguard’s script extender) to not only teleport Rook anywhere on the map(this includes all the out of bounds areas), but also to allow us to play any animation in the game. as of right now, dex can officially tell rook to do any animation that’s in that menu you see on the screenshot without crashing the game. i hope to eventually have the animations loop, put in a pause button and a stop button so getting the perfect shot is easier. and one day in the future i hope to be able to target our companions too.

there’s still a lot of work to be done before dex is ready for his next big update, but i was so proud of this milestone and wanted to share with you guys 💙

so much progress has been made with the animation player for dex! my dream of a photomode in dav where you can target any character and change their facial expression or pose/animation like you can in bg3 is slowly coming to fruition ✨💙
