“i think josh might be dragging me to this family’s since he knows how much i’m going to avoid going to dad’s, so i really don’t have an excuse not to go to his. but take out sounds so much better. - are we really going to pretend you needed an invite? you would have just showed up if you wanted to. i guess it does, yeah.”

“My brains maybe. Honestly I have no idea what Emma sees in me but I’m not going to wait for her to come to her senses. This is why I need to become a trophy husband. I don’t think I could do what I need to do for the job if it meant twenty four hour shifts.”
“hey, if she likes you, she likes you. don’t question it. - a trophy husband? i think you can do better than just that, to be honest. there’s plenty of jobs that don’t involve a twenty four hour shift, banks.”

“I assume Emma just like my beautiful face and plentiful shirtless selfies. That feels dangerous. How good can you all be if you’ve been working for twenty four hours?”
“out of the handful of times i’ve met her, i really don’t think she’s in it for the looks. what else she’s in it for? that beats me, but i’m sure she sees at least something. - it’s all part of the job, little brother, you do what you have to do sometimes.”

“then the genes of the mother are strong. Nope, my heart is ice, my soul is ice. Also, a twenty four hour shift? That’s a thing?”
“they must be. you and i both know that’s a load of bull. i can’t imagine emma would stick around much if you were really that cold. - and yes, it is, when you’re an understaffed peds nurse. i’ve done three of them in the past week.”

“I feel like I must be adopted. I have to be. You and Peter just- I have to be adopted.”
“we aren’t adopted, and neither are you, sadly - teasing. there has to be some part of you that isn’t freezing cold and dead that likes christmas movies. i know you’re not a total grinch.”

“okay but we still have thanksgiving to get through! hey it’s what i do best be annoying then beg for your attention can’t help it i’m cooper anderson’s son what do you expect?”
“thanksgiving? with dad? i think i may pass. which means - it’s christmas time. i’m cooper anderson’s daughter, and you don’t see me begging for attention.”

“Being fresh off a twenty-four-hours on shift is usually a godsend but my fiancee found out ‘Flavor of Love’ is on hulu so I’m going to be in hell for the next two days before I go back to work. Send help.”
“she was telling me about that show, which of course caused me to watch it. so now i’m addicted. you may just have to give in and watch it too.”

“are you kidding me? it’s after halloween. christmas is allowed. leave me be - and if you wanna watch, then come watch! don’t make fun of me for it, you annoying ass.”

“I’d claw my own face off if I had to ever do a twenty-four-hour shift, but the sentiment of drinking a whole bottle of wine after a long ass day is so there. Hallmark is my biggest guilty pleasure and fuck- I’m so happy it’s finally time for Christmas movies. I need some bullshit-faux cheer to last me til Christmas break.”
“it’s honestly one of the worst parts of the job, i can’t lie. the wine does help quite a bit, though - and the movies. even though almost everyone around me is absolutely dying over the fact that i start christmas fun way to early in their opinion, but i love it. so whatever. it’s the best way to get the time to pass before christmas! i fully agree.”

“yes. but if and only if you’re going to come and watch shitty chrismas movies and cry with me.”
“well - i’m off for a day after a twenty four hour shift. the only logical thing to do with my time is drink a whole bottle of wine, watch hallmark christmas movies and bawl my eyes out over them, right?”
