@Macduff, you want to run away? Alright, go to England and get all the help you think you’ll need, just get ready for a beating. Macduff does not know this, but I went to see the Weird Sisters the other day and I have the advantage. Do you want to know why? I’ll tell you, since there is no hope for Macduff.

The three apparitions told me to fear Macduff (trust me, he is the last thing I would ever fear), I can only be killed by someone who is not woman born (unless a tree were to fall on me in battle, I am invincible), and Great Birnam Forest will move towards my castle. (yes because a forest can get up and walk). So, come on over here Macduff I am not afraid of you, I killed your family, what are you going to do about? You can bring your ten thousand men and I will slaughter all of you like a group of pigs in a slaughter house. Maybe you should come so i can put you to rest like the rest of your family. So come, come and get me.

Prepare The Throne

The victory on the battlefield felt good, but what came after felt great. Banquo and I were on our way home to celebrate our victory with the King and some ale when smoke appeared and out came these three figures. Disfigured old women with hairy chins and hunched backs. These old hags asked me if I was Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, I barely managed to choke out a response.

Each of the witches began to describe my destiny. The first called me by the title I had inherited from my father, the second stated I would be appointed the Thane of Cawdor, followed by my rise to the throne as King of Scotland as the final prediction. These prediction confused me because both roles were already occupied. Banquo wanted to know what was in store for him and asked what was to become of him and they told him that he would not become king but his descendants would. Before we could ask any more questions they vanished just as they had appeared.... into thin air. At first we laughed that three old hags had just played us for fools.... that is, until Nobleman Ross came to deliver the news from King Duncan that I was appointed the Thane of Cawdor. The man before had confessed to treason. I could not believe what I was hearing, I felt as if I had just won a game show called “Who Wants To Be A King?”. I immediately sent a letter to my wife about the wonderful news.

Ghost Problems

Lately, Lady Macbeth and I have been having some marital problems, and I have not exactly been forthcoming to her about all my plans. We have shut each other out, but that is a story for another time. The other day, Lady Macbeth and I were setting up a feast for all my noblemen to come together and celebrate our achievements. Without her knowing I hired three men to kill Banquo and his son Fleance, even though he was my friend, the prophecies the witches had given him would mean I would lose all of my power to his descendants. Although I mourn his death, I could not lose the Power.

During the feast, I gave a toast that we as a nation would evolve Scotland to a world power and we would all live long and prosper. That is when I saw him, Banquo, I was tripping balls. What was he doing here? At first I tried to ignore him, but then he started talking and was staring right at me. I went cold, my heart dropped, I got goosebumps. I was stuck there as if my feet were nailed to the floor and my knees trembling as if we were experiencing an earth quake. I opened my mouth to speak but I could not hear what I was saying, all I saw were people staring at me if I was crazy. The next thing I knew, my wife had told everyone to leave and I was in bed trying to understand what had just happened.
