The lightening and a loud thunder made the forest shiver, and he could feel how the wind whipped the treetops, soaked as himself. With a hand on his left side, he kept walking, weakly, almost falling to the ground. He back was also wet under the jacket, but it wasn’t due to the storm; a dark stain of a darker black was growing wider under his right hand, a stain of blood. Drops fell here and there, leaving a scarlet track on the grass he stepped on. The skin of his left hand was also darker than usual, like the scar of a recent burnt reaching his wirst. He also had a cut on the right cheek…
What the hell had happened!?
He’d been days trying to remember… Waking alone on that damn island, ridiculously full of flowers but then with the crater of a volcano hot as if there had just been an eruption… His jacket was already half torn apart, and there were pieces of red fabric and a golden chain near the place where he woke up. A cape, maybe? Nonsense, who would wear a cape anyway? But that was the last of his problems.
What the fuck were those monsters inside those strange black and yellow balls? All of them looked at him like if they were expecting something, being released or God knows what, but what on Earth were they!? Some strange blue snakes, a dinosaur with wings and a… A dragon? A yellow dragon?
That… That made no sense at all!
Luckily he could leave that island soon, abandoning there those caged beasts before they could harm him. He’d been already some days trying to reach the coast… He could swim until another island and rest there for a bit, but he had to look for a place… A forest… That forest he was in now…
Yes, he could remember that… Viridian Forest… There was someone in that forest, a girl… He had to find her. That was the only thing he remembered. That’s why he made it through the sea, even with all those crazy wounds and almost drowning, hungry after not having eaten anything in… What? Two days? Three? Or more? He’d completely lost track of the time.
Finally he reached a house with a beautiful garden, right when the forest ended. He was already going crazy, wasn’t he? He could even hear voices… Every time he accidentally touched an animal, like those strange caterpillars or a purple rat (purple?), it was like if they were talking to him… Falling on his knees in front of the door, he knocked it weakly, hoping someone inside would hear him.
