“Don’t m-mean to seem wh—”
If you didn’t fall asleep in class then this wouldn’t be an issue. But he couldn’t say that, could he? No, that was far too curt and she didn’t deserve it, although her position surely made it clear she didn’t care about the lecture at all; someone who accidentally fell asleep wouldn’t have made what appeared to be a nest in front of them. She had fully intended on sleeping during the class! While Sehun knew that people fell asleep purposefully in class, he never understood it—why bother going to classes at all? Or for that matter, why bother with school? Inside he was rather annoyed with her even though it wasn’t even something that should bother him, not at this point in his life. If he were to become a professor, would people fall asleep during his lectures? It was troubling to think about, and so he put the thought aside.
Despite thinking that it was entirely her fault for falling asleep in class and missing the lecture, he couldn’t let her go without notes for the day; his conscious got the better of him. “Yes…” With a sigh he took the seat next to her and opened up his notebook. Sehun’s handwriting wasn’t perfect by any means, but his notes were close to it. Nearly every meticulous detail was written down on the pages, with added commentary and things to look up later. He had an organized system for his notes that he had been working on since high school, and his system was done in a way that he wasn’t sure how much someone else could understand.
Flipping past a few he came to the correct page where he had started taking notes for the day, pointing toward the date and sliding the notebook closer to her. “H-Here, I started t-taking notes for the day at t-this point… but I missed s-some of the end of t-the lecture…” He wondered if he should point out that some pieces were more important than others, since he had a tendency to right down normally unimportant pieces just because he wanted to know them, but he decided against it. Surely Kiko could figure out which parts were more important, especially since he had written them differently. His system was effective, after all.
“…you really s-shouldn’t fall asleep in c-class. The professor could h-have reprimanded you for it.” It was still beyond him why she would do so, but she was rather lucky their professor was lenient on this type of situation—he had a few professors he could name that would have spotted her and made an example of her. Not that it was something he found fun to watch happen, Sehun hated it, but it was merely a fact.
With his hesitation at first, she started to doubt her decision on asking him for the notes. Perhaps she could have asked the girl that sat next to her? No, she wouldn't let her copy. Especially if she already let her sleep.. there was no way she was going to ask the professor either since it was obvious what his answer would be. She didn't really know much of anyone in the class. Sehun was the only one she had talked to pretty much the entire semester, she really had no choice, it was either no notes or his. "I mean you don't have to.." Her eyes widened as he responded with the chair squeaking when he sat down.
Kiko glanced at the notes of other days as he flipped through the book and internally groaned at the amount of writing she was sure she would have to do. His notes were everywhere and there were parts where she couldn't tell if it was him being overly intent on writing his own thoughts on the sentence written or if it was just the entire lecture written in blocks. But she wasn't going to complain that much, he was being nice enough for her to copy them and that was all that really mattered at the moment. When the correct page was finally pushed towards her, her fingers curled tight around the pencil before she waved off his statement.
It wasn't uncommon for her to fall asleep, let alone uncommon for her to miss notes. But she had promised her roommate that she would start being better at it and if she couldn't show any proof of it-- whether or not it actually happened- she was sure her rights would be revoked. Sometimes it paid off to have a strict roommate and sometimes it really was a pain. She tapped the lead against the paper as she worked out how she was going to write the words on her own paper, it would be messed up to just copy exactly how they were written. She would know that Kiko didn't write them herself. "If you missed some, don't worry about it. I'm sure this is enough, you don't seem to really need the end of the notes. Though," She raised her brow at him with a hum, "You don't seem.. or look, like the type to miss notes. What happened while I was asleep?"
Assuming the lecture didn't finish or the male had gotten distracted, she lifted her shoulders in a shrug to signal she wasn't much interested in what he had to say. She wasn't planning on giving such a cold shoulder, but she was extremely annoyed with herself and her habit of falling asleep during important things. "I know.. it would be a lot easier if I had coffee or something this morning. Actually, apples are a lot better I've heard.." Shaking her head, she resumed jotting down the words on the opposite page and pursed her lips out as she did so. "I mean, what would he have done? Called me out in class? Come on, Sehun, that wouldn't be the first time he's done that. I've gotten used to it." Kiko pulled away from the page where she had hunched over, cracking her back with a groan before turning her gaze to him. "Though, he doesn't seem to mind of people sleep. I've seen a couple of people sleep besides me. Anyway, how are you? We haven't spoken in a while. You doing okay?" Her brow furrowed as she focused on the words, barely taking a moment to nudge him with her elbow,
✗ "Anything exciting to tell me about?"
kihaos;
would you like to hear me talk about space for hours? it's truly the only thing I can do properly.
If I'm going to be honest, the stars and space fascinate me. So I would love to hear about them for hours. Try me.
I agree. It’s still an outfit Chance would wear.
I feel like I should be offended on some level.

With the sound of her heels clicking against the concrete steps of a store, she let out a heavy sigh and pulled out a black device from her pocket. She had an exam earlier that day and when she was finally free and finally able to turn on her phone, the barrage of text messages and loud beeps caused her to shove it back into her pocket until the sounds stopped and the people around her quit staring as if she was a walking car alarm. Kiko tugged it from her skirt to glance at the messages, a couple were from her parents, a couple from a friend in her class that was asking for some answers, and a few others from people she had met randomly. But just as her thumb hovered over the ‘ignore all’ button, her gaze latched onto a name that she was sure if she ignored, she wouldn't hear the end of it.
Tapping the name of the person to return the call, she waited for the male on the other end to pick up only to be greeted by his annoying voicemail. She grunted before switching to the texting screen, manicured nails mimicking a clock as she typed.
[ ᴍssɢ → ʙᴀʙʏ ♥ ʙᴏʏ ] Please explain what the point is of you calling and not answering when I call back?
[ ᴍssɢ → ʙᴀʙʏ ♥ ʙᴏʏ ] If I call again and there is no answer, I will end you so fast.
She got a response almost as soon as the second text had the words SENT over the message and she rolled her eyes at the words that flashed on her screen.
"Hang out. You want to hang out. Yeah, I'm sure. Let's go see what trouble you actually want to get into." She took another glance at the location he had sent her before treading towards the pet store around the block. Something inside of her knew exactly where to go when she pushed her way into the small store.
The heavy scent of animals and cleaning products hung in the air like a fog as she waved towards the man working the front before she caught sight of her friend hunched over with his fingers wiggling in the bars of the crate that held the kittens. Kiko would have taken a picture and held it against him for the rest of his life if he hadn't looked like a.. well, a rather adorable child.
With her arms crossing over her chest, she kicked other's leg to get his attention when her presence alone wasn't enough to tear his focus on the kitten's that battered his fingers. "Kei, you bum, no wonder you didn't answer."
Kei stood, dusting off his knees even though he really had no reason to. He smiled at her with his fingers sticking into another crate a bit higher up that he would be able to reach while standing. She snorted as his index finger wormed and his brow furrowed when the kitten was just out of his reach, a bit too disinterested in the male for him to pet. "Come here, cat. I want you." He practically pleaded with the animal only for Kiko to bring her hands up to rub her forehead.
"Oh god you're.. horrifying. How long have you been here?" Kei lifted his shoulders in a shrug as his lips pursed, face contorted into such focus that Kiko was sure it wasn't healthy to be this determined to touch a cat. "A couple of hours." She almost choked on her gum, "A couple of hours? Is this normal?"
He glanced at her and she noticed that is wasn't the cat he was trying so hard for. Something was bothering him and she wasn't sure what, "What's wrong? Hey--" She snapped her fingers before pulling her purse around to tug her wallet from it's pocket on the side to hold it up to him. "If I buy you whatever kitten you want, will you tell me what's going on?" He nodded.
Tsk.. What a child. She chuckled to herself before shoving her wallet back. "Alright, pick one at some point." He had brought his other hand up to poke at the crate from another angle, this time his finger was an inch away from the small animal's fluffy fur but he still couldn't manage it.
"Kiko, I want to tell you something." She hummed in response, too taken by a cat toy on the wall by the crates. Maybe she could get Walnut something while she was here. It would be a waste of time not to at least get her own cat something. Kei's voice lowered as he mumbled something about love to her.
✗ She felt her heart stop.
"What," She turned towards him, "Did you say?" He looked towards her again, his fingers frozen in place,
✗ "I've never wanted to give love a try until now."
Kiko inhaled, holding her breath for a few moments before she let out another chuckle though this one a bit awkward and her cheeks turning a light pink. "Wow.. who knew you were so invested in cats.. I mean, he's cute, yeah, but you can't even pet him." He frowned, shaking his head, "Kiko, that's not what I meant."
"I know that isn't what you meant." Her voice was firm and her jaw locked when she wasn't speaking only for her hand to come up, fingers combing through her hair before she reached out to pull one of his hands from the bars to take it in her own. "Baby boy.. please, don't do this right now. We've been friends as long as I can remember and I love you, I do. But remember what I told you? I would so be all for it.." His expression brightened for a moment, "If you didn't have a nasty habit of getting bored." And it dimmed. She leaned forward, thankful that her heels put her at the height where she was able to press a kiss to his cheek.
Desperate to fix the situation that was now tense enough the even the kitten he had been playing with before had stopped it's obnoxious yowling as it's cry for attention. The whole store seemed to have frozen in time before she pulled her hands away to grin at him. "Besides.. we can talk when you are sure that this is what you want.. other than that, I want to be with you all the time. You're my best friend." He nodded, at least his expression wasn't so hurt at her words. She had a point. But again, she nodded towards the animals, winking at him and even making a point at pushing her finger into the crate of the grumpy kitten when she spoke.
✗ "Now are you going to pick a cat or what."

For some reason I feel very threatened about the use of the word "our" followed by "future kids."
