hi guys! i haven’t been active on here because i wanted to fully catch up with the manga before writing nezuko. that being said, i’m on chapter 164 now and should be caught up by tomorrow!

a few things about my nezuko depiction (spoilers! as this blog is not spoiler free): while i was slightly appeased when nezuko started speaking again and showing more sentience once she conquered the sun, i really felt that i wanted more of a build up to it. i’m glad she finally started to be more of an active player, but as i started out just watching the anime, i was very disappointed by how one dimensional (and honestly, like a plot point!) her involvement in the story felt.

so, what i’m changing is that nezuko starts to regain her sentience a bit earlier. she still doesn’t conquer the sun until the battle in the sword village arc, but she starts to regain memories, speech, and such before that. it takes her a while to relearn how to speak slowly and she instead starts learning how to read again first via the diary that tanjiro has been writing for her.

i just really felt like the idea of having a character torn between their two natures, trying to regain their humanity, and having to deal with this hunger that’s never sated would be so interesting, but we never really got more than glimpses and hints of that. side note: she also isn’t hypnotized - i’ll go into detail on a later date on why not lol.

so i’m here to write nezuko basically, as i wish she had been! uvu!
