Goodbye Arden Cho pt.2

Also, just wanted to say that I will also be making a Kira Yukimura tribute video and that has moved to the top of my list. It may take a while because I need it to be perfect but it’s coming. I’m going to go lie down now and contemplate the meaning of life without Kira (let me be dramatic okay, humor me). See you soon.

Goodbye Arden Cho

So, not sure if you have heard but Arden Cho will not be returning for season 6. From what I understand it was NOT her choice. Apparently there isn’t enough room for everyones storylines and they felt they had wrapped up her character.

I feel like this is BS.

There isn’t enough room because they kept bringing in new characters that didn’t necessarily bring anything new or necessarily had to be brought in AT THAT TIME. I’m talking about Hayden, I’m talking about Gerard, etc. Liam didn’t need a love interest so soon, the relationships we should have focused on with him were between him and the pack, him and Mason, and maybe even him and Brett (not romantically but you know). There was zero reason for Gerard to come back, the Argent storyline was properly fleshed out about 1000 times (we get it, they’re hunters blah blah blah), and while I did like the episode with Crystal that was not necessary, in the sense of it could of been used to developing main characters-like Kira.

Kira brought something new to the show. She was a different supernatural creature whose powers we hadn’t seen yet and there was so much left to do with her. They brought in a poc female lead who added something different just in the sense that she wasn’t another werewolf. There was so much left to do with her and they had finally started to....and then they cut her from the show.

That is what doesn’t make sense to me. We see her losing control, we see a new level of power and how the fox appears and takes over. I thought we were finally going to get more on everything Kira could be but instead somehow they counted that as “wrapping up her storyline”. They should have left all that out instead of opening up new possibilities and just cutting it off.

Also side note: KIRA AND SCOTT DIDNT BREAK UP. So she leaves for the skinwalkers but they’re still together. We all know Jeff Davis (and other writers, etc) can’t leave the male lead without a love interest so what, is Scott just going to casually forget he has a girlfriend five episodes in and start dating someone else (which would be obviously ooc). Or better yet, are we just going to get a five second scene where he causally mentions they called it off? Either way, this sucks (Scira was everything to me in case you can’t tell lol).

Anyway, Kira was one of my favorite characters. I loved her dearly and Arden Cho was such a joy to watch and see interact with the fans. The fact that she apparently thought she’d be coming back hurts. I’m not going to boycott the show, but I’ll surely be pissed if I have to sit through more episodes taken up with Hayden or watch Scott (and everyone else) completely forget she ever existed. Le sigh.

Where I’ve Been

So, I’ve been neglecting this blog. I started this blog two years ago over winter break because I was bored and had nothing to do. When school started again everything was fine but then I went to college. I sort of kept up with it but over this past school year I’ve really slacked off.

That ends now. Despite being busier and probably not being as active as I was when I first started out, I’m still going to do better. Writing and editing aren’t just things I do to keep followers, they’re things I do to keep my sanity while I’m at school, and I want to get back into this.

So I want to apologize. And I want to thank those who have stuck around during my hiatus. But I’m back (I promise). I’ll be posting more (hopefully daily) if not with imagines/prompts then with edits or gifs. Either way I’ll be getting back into it.

Feel free to send in new imagine or prompt requests here and I’ll get right to them. I’ll also be doing the ones that have been sitting around in my ask for who knows how long because as promised I do them ALL. ’ll be tweaking the blog theme just a bit to freshen it up and if there’s something you want me to see tag it with “kiki yukimura”. I follow that tag.

I think that’s all for now, sorry for such a rocky phase but thanks for sticking around and look forward to taking this blog back to the basics of what it was created for. I’m back!

You know, the sad part is that, even though Briam and Layden have some similarities…

Brett Talbot didn’t need Liam being nice to him to forgive him…

Brett Talbot didn’t need to see Liam save a person to smile at his presence…

Brett Talbot didn’t need Liam to isolate from everyone else he loved for him to be genuinely impressed by him…

Brett Talbot didn’t need Liam to save him to care about him being hurt or scared…

all Brett needed was to see Liam trying to be better, to be stronger, to endure.

I don't even ship Briam (romantically) and I agree. I would like to see more of them working together. Their relationship is personally more interesting (gasp! a non-romantic relationship is interesting alert the press or rather alert Jeff Davis since he doesn't seem to agree). Anyway I think as far as worrying about Liam's character development (or recent lack thereof) I want to obviously see more of him with the pack (especially the pack ladies since they've hardly interacted) and Mason (the most important Liam relationship in my opinion) and Brett. These are all different dynamics that should be explored and have already been set up. To me, bringing in Hayden was more of set back because they already had characters that were significant to Liam for different reasons and that should have been the focus as far as Liam/other people is concerned. Perhaps I should rephrase and say bringing in LAYDEN was a set back because Hayden as her own character could have had a of of potential without being connected to Liam in the first place. But that's encroaching on different territory and I'm not going to explain all the reasons I dont ship Layden in one post (perhaps another day). This was mostly just an example of how in my eyes Layden never needed to happen in the first place with so many other opportunities. I don't usually post/reblog these kinds of things to this blog but I thought while I'm getting the blog back up and running it wouldn't hurt to clue my loyal followers in on my own opinions of the show. I was partially worried it might make people who disagree leave but I'd like to think that whether we have the same opinions doesn't much matter as to whether you like my content. If it does, then good riddance.

What I desperately need is for Tracy to overthrow Theo’s evilness and become Alpha and then she and Scott can be Alpha friends and gossip about Alpha things and when pack members ask them what their whispering about they’re all like “…nuthin.”
