Your eyes widened with interest as you entered the theater. This was the first time you were here and you were nervous as hell. You held your bag tightly in your hands, finding your seat towards the front of the stage. It had been relatively hard to find tickets to the show, especially on short notice. You traveled all the way from California just to see him perform, and hopefully meet him.

Looking around, you could see the theater was old but in good condition. When searching for theaters that still performed rakugo, this was the only theater in Tokyo. There were multiple people performing tonight, however, you were most looking forward to the last one. You sat in your seat and set your bag down, taking out a pencil and notebook. Taiko drums echoed through the theater and the bright sound of samisens soon followed as the first rakugoka made his way to the stage. He bowed deeply, two hands folded as his forehead touched the top of them. He came back up, sitting back on his calves. And with that, your first live rakugo began.
