first of all, the point of Ranma 1/2 is to blur gender lines. ranma isn’t meant to be a woman because that isn’t the point of his character. the joke is that no matter how much the other characters try to put him in a box, he breaks it. he is undeniably meant to be a gender ambiguous character
so here you are, claiming he’s a woman. missing the point.
need i mention that ranma ALWAYS refers to himself as masculine? in english and japanese. you will never catch him saying he’s a girl when in his right mind.

heres the thing. all this does is further the divide between genders. a man isn’t allowed to blur the line without being considered a woman. men aren’t allowed to wear dresses, or look pretty, or cry, or flirt with boys, because that makes them women. only girls do that.
but what about akane? ukyo? these girls do a lot of masculine stuff. akane is strong and brawny and throws around tables and starts fights. ukyo “gave up being a woman” and binds her chest and lives as a man. so why arent they automatically men? ill tell you why.
