Brax stuck his head out enough to look at the ghost girl. Squinting. Clacked his teeth at her then pulled his coat back up over his head.
He didn’t answer her goodnight. Snuffing and falling asleep, despite ghost girl staring at him, in ten flat minutes of silence.
To answer her earlier question; Brax snored. One of them faint airy ones that are only obvious when you get close enough to the maker. It’s fine.
He didn’t move or make any other noise until the sun was high enough to start touching things in the city. Direct sunlight tended to be the issue for him, but indirect sun was enough to make him instinctually aware of it.
Rolled off the fan and to the ground in the early morning hours. Gruffing and putting his coat back on. Rubbing at his face and starting out into the streets.
Came back with a plastic bag with takeout boxes some twenty minutes later. Looking like he was dead-beat tired. Despite having just woke up.
“I’m going to eat your boss.” He told ghost girl very seriously. “In three seconds. One–” Ghosts weren’t usually TERRIBLY BRIGHT. And he wasn’t afraid to fucks with one.
The van did much to muffle the snoring, anyway. Arcadia fussed some, and let out a small shout at some old nightmare drifting through her mind again. She felt dawn coming like a wave passing over her skin, just the barest warning. It was enough to wake her though.
Nocturnal as she was, she usually rose at dawn to make sure the spirits in her care were looked after.
Gentian only had a few more minutes before she had to get back to her grave. And then Brax was there, making threats, and she was winding up, a yell sounding as she raised a fist, form shimmering for just a moment into something more bestial, more twisted.
Arcadia kicked the door open, hurling a glass orb that contained the memory of a sharp shock at his feet, hoping it shattered close enough to affect him. It’d only last a second, but hopefully it would deter him..
“Leave her alone, you bully,” she grumbled. “Gentian, you run home. Don’t let the sun catch you. If he’s gonna try and eat me, I’ll make sure he chokes.”
It wasn’t as if the ghost girl had a choice if she didn’t want to disappear.
