sorry i’ve dropped of the face of the earth for a while here. i took some time off to hone my own art skills, which you may have seen if you’ve been following me elsewhere...but i didn’t mention i was doing so. that was pretty selfish on my part and i hope to be more transparent of my intentions going forward. to get back into the swing of things, i’ve been gradually chipping away the past few weeks on getting back into development.
speaking of! here’s what i have planned for the next update:
after reviewing it an extensive amount of times...the story after the prologue feels a bit railroaded. i don’t want to make it feel forced into following mac’s schedule, so i’m adding another route that covers much of the same story events to allow for more freedom and to start off with more of a focus on learning about killigan, eventually catching up to mac’s route.
day 3 will cover the aftermath of day 2 from both routes, including some consequences from certain things you might have done...
and here’s what i have planned for the future, things that likely won’t be in the next update but i’ll gradually work towards:
overhaul of character portraits
one of the biggest things i’ve been wanting to do for a while is overhaul the character portraits to look a bit more realistic, to fit with both the game’s style and backgrounds better, as opposed to the cel-shaded style they currently have. i’ve re-rendered killigan’s base sprite as an example of this and i hope to have more characters to show in the coming weeks!
similarly, a good amount of cgs for the last update were rushed, so i’ll be taking the time to render those better in the future, using what i’ve learned about my about my own art in this time off to enhance it
timeframe of future updates
as far as when this update will happen..that’s a bit up in the air. i don’t want to rush back into development but i also have no intention of going back into the dark again. there’s also a lot of back-end coding and fixes i want to clean up and optimize for faster future updates.
to be succinct, i’ll announce when an update’s coming when it’s ready, there may not be a consistent timeframe for a while. but it definitely shouldn’t be too long
and long story short: i’m not going anywhere, this is gonna be a story that’ll take a long time to tell
