What makes you happy? Happiness Happens Month is a whole month dedicated to celebrating what makes you happy. The holiday is based on the premise that happiness is unlimited and contagious and that sharing one 19s happiness and can bring a lot of joy in other people 19s lives.

Even though Happiness Happens Month sounds silly, it does have a very important purpose. 1CThe month reminds us that happiness happens one small moment at a time and it 19s our job to recognize those moments when they happen. It reminds us that sometimes a small action boosts our happiness. It reminds us that happiness is a personal experience and it 19s also contagious! 1D

The History of Happiness Happens Month

Pamela Gail Johnson is the Founder of The Secret Society of Happy People (SOHP) and is quoted as saying 1CI started the Secret Society of Happy People in 1998 to provide a missing voice for those who are happy and want to express it without having other people rain on their parade. (Boo, Hiss!) 1D.

The Secret Society of Happy People started celebrating happiness with Admit You 19re Happy Day on August 8, 1999. But their members wanted to let the happy feeling linger a little longer, so in 2000 they expanded the celebration to the entire month of August. Eventually the month was renamed Happiness Happens Day and Month.

How to Celebrate Happiness Happens Month

Happiness Happens Day encourages people to take stock of their lives and try to do and think about things that make them happy and to share this joy with others. Here are some ways to celebrate this happy day: Do something nice for yourself 13 after all, happiness starts at home. Make someone else happy by doing something nice for them. It can be something as simple as giving up your seat on the bus to someone else or a more elaborate gesture like volunteering your time and money to a charity of your choice.

Studies have found that volunteering doesn 19t only help people bring joy in their lives but can also help them live longer. Don a pair of silver shades (because happy people always see the silver lining), laugh (laughter is still the best medicine), smile (and the world smiles with you). History of Picnic Month

Throughout the recorded history of civilization, there has always been something special about leaving the stuffy confines of your home and eating a meal outdoors. We know there 19s a beautiful world out there waiting for us to come visit it, and when summer comes around we 19re reminded just how much time we 19ve been locked inside or being eager to come in from the cold. The word 18picnic 19 is thought to have first been used by Tony Willis in 1692, and from that point forward everyone from the working class to the upper crust have been fascinated with taking their repast outside under the sky.

Picnics have been used for many things throughout the centuries, from a simply family gathering spent enjoying the outdoors, to being used as a peaceful protest in the Pan-European Picnic, which was held on the Hungarian/Austrian border in 1989. The most notable, and largest, picnic ever held spanned 600 miles, crossing France from coast to coast and celebrated the millennium 19s first Bastille Day in 2000. Such a diverse resume for such a simple concept, don 19t you think? Picnic Month celebrates the history of this activity and the way it has been used to bring families, countries, and all humanity together.

Picnic month is exceptionally easy to celebrate! You just have to get outside into the world and enjoy all the wonderful sights and smells it has to offer. Celebration International Mud Month June 2021

We sit each day in cubicles and under flickering lights, staring at screens that shimmer with a digital world, and every day we lose ourselves a little bit to the cold light of electron pathways.

Children dive into games, experiencing narratives created by dreamers of other worlds, without ever learning to open their minds and find the narrative within themselves.

International Mud Month was created to remind us that outside, away from the geometrical perfection of man 19s world, lay the organized chaos of mother nature 19s realm, and the importance of maintaining our connection to it.

History of International Mud Month

In 2009 the children of Bold Park Community School joined forces with the boys of the Nepalese Panchkhal orphanage to celebrate the visceral and primal connection we all share with Earth and the outdoors.

Bold Park used this opportunity to raise funds to help support the less fortunate children of Nepal. Since that fateful beginning, schools, families, and ECE centers from all over the world have worked together to promote the idea that we all need to play in the mud sometimes, just to remember what it means to be human.

In 2015 it was decided that one day of playing in the mud simply wasn 19t sufficient to ground us after a year of being lost in the technological glitz and digital glamour of our modern world, and so it was changed from 1CInternational Mud Day 1D to 1CInternational Mud Month 1D, and thus the celebration continued!

It 19s not all about our personal connection with the Earth, but also about how we as humans connect to one another, and the relationships we form throughout our lives. Like any two ponds of mud, no two humans are exactly alike, and so International Mud Month encourages us to share that diversity and celebrate it!

How to Celebrate International Mud Month

First off, get ye to the mountains and fields! Out among the blooming flowers and down into the flowing creeks. Head out over the airy mountain, and through the wooded glen, and get muddy up to your neck in search of fairy dens!

Then start organizing with others to create fund-raisers centered on remembering that we were all wild once, and we should not let the digital world tame us! Get out there and play in the mud!
