I don’t post wips or abandoned fics but this wasn’t in my wip folder for some reason so have some gen chentao with tattooist jongdae.
The first time Jongdae sees Zitao he has to look up from between a pair of tits. But he’s alone in the shop, so when the bell over the door chimes he flicks off the tattoo machine and sets it down, wiping the excess ink from the woman’s sternum with a mumbled apology.
‘Can I help you?’ he asks, rolling his stool around.
The young man—tall and lean with dyed blond hair and golden skin, dressed all in black—steps to the display case they use as a counter. ‘Is the piercer in?’
His voice is clear but softer than Jongdae expected.
‘No, but he should be back in about twenty minutes, if you want to wait. I don’t think he has any appointments until later.’ Jongdae blinks, allowing himself a second to appreciate the customer’s strong nose and hooded eyes. He notes the glint of metal in both ears but sees no tattoos, which is a shame, but not really surprising when the only exposed skin is the triangle framed by his low-cut shirt and gold necklace.
It’s merely a casual, professional interest anyway.
The guy chews his lip for a moment. ‘Nah I’ll come back later. Thanks,’ he says, offering a small, shy smile and turning on his heel.
Jongdae shrugs and gets back to work.
The second time Jongdae sees Zitao is later that same night when he stumbles, giggling, into the shop with another boy who’s just as tall but even slimmer, both in painted-on jeans and smelling like a bar.
Minseok shoos then out and tells them to come back when they’re sober.
The third time they meet, Jongdae learns his name.
‘I have an appointment with Chen? The name’s Tao. Uh, Zitao.’
Jongdae doesn’t have to check the book because he returned from lunch to one of Minseok’s cat-shaped sticky notes on his station: Tao 6pm - virgin.
‘That’s me,’ Jongdae says and gestures for Zitao to follow him back.
