Baby Steps

Happy Saturday!!

I just had my first post-op doctor visit on Thursday, and was so happy to get on that scale.

THE GREAT NEWS?  I lost 17 lbs since my surgery date of Aug 21st! I have also been OFF of blood pressure meds since surgery, although I check it daily.

Yesterday I started the pureed/soft food stage of my post-op diet.  OMG, it is sooo nice to have some food that is not liquid. But here…

I seriously could have smacked my husband down tonight- I guess I am getting a little sensitive.  Twenty days on liquids will do that to a person.  My daughter and a friend made chicken parmesan for dinner and hubs was oohing and ahhing over it like a great daddy will do- but here I am sitting with my soup, listening, and rapidly getting that Peanuts cloud over my head.

I am now 4 days post-op from my sleeve surgery.  What have I learned?

DO WHAT YOUR DR SAYS –  I followed all of my Dr’s orders and suggestions to a T, and everything has gone pretty great in my recovery so far. I feel a little guilty as I have heard horror stories about pain and nausea and complications, but I have been blessed so far.  Except….
