sometimes yuuri kisses victor goodnight on the lips, but when he’s too lazy or victor too busy with his book or phone, yuuri kisses his cheek before curling up in bed next to him, except… there are days – and sure, yuuri has gotten used to this too – but there are days when victor’s face is caked with something invisible, but sticky and nasty, and when yuuri kisses him, that gross taste on his lips makes him cringe something awful but it’s literally impossible to tell if or when victor has anything on so yuuri just tries his luck as it goes only to then hide the little wrinkle of his nose before victor can see

victor sees it anyway. it takes maybe a month, but a new jar of cream something-or-whatever shows up on victor’s shelf in the bathroom, and that night when yuuri does his sweet-kiss-goodnight thing, he comes up surprised. because victor no longer tastes like gross chemical tea leaves, oh no. now his skin tastes like honey and yuuri can’t help licking his lips, much to victor’s amusement.

“better?” victor asks, his blue eyes twinkling in amusement.

and even though yuuri blushes at it, he leans close to victor’s ear and whispers: “now you’re good enough to eat.”

suffice it to say, victor’s book gets forgotten pretty fast and the honey cream stays for good.
