“I was always one of the lucky ones. My parents loved me more than they loved themselves. And I truly believed God thought I was special- and I still do. Throughout my whole life I’ve chosen to see the good in bad situations and grow from hardships in any way I can. I refuse to forget about everything amazing I have in my life just because one bad thing has happened. It’s not lost on me how difficult it is to stay optimistic during tough times, but I realize that it’s a conscious choice, and there’s a clear right decision. Don’t let bad turn to worse. It’s possible for flowers to grow through sidewalks just like it’s possible to turn setbacks into new opportunities and it’s possible to turn heartbreak into art.”
