Panting and heavy steps were made through the snow as she was running, trying to get away from the guard dogs. One of them had caught her scent and she had to bolt for the little town, kicking up snow in her wake. But where was she to go? She had to find some place to hide, somewhere they couldn’t smell her.
The neon lights above the restaurant caught her attention for a mere moment before she ran, rushing towards the building as fast as her legs could carry her. With her velocity, and if she was stronger, she might of ripped the door off the hinges as she ran and ducked down underneath one of the booths, making quite a ruckus in her wake. Thank goodness it didn’t seem busy..
With the hood of her old coat pulled up over her head, she tried to hide and nestle underneath the booth table, trying to keep out of sight.
To say that Grillby was a bit shocked by the human’s sudden entrance would be an understatement. Having what seemed to be a small force of nature come bursting through your door was not something many took in stride. He happened to be one of those “ many “. He just hoped that he wouldn’t have to replace the poor door. The doorway, however, seemed worse for wear; judging by the small splinters of pale white wood that shone out against the dark floorboards, it would have to be replaced. Or at the very least fixed.
Though, that clearly was not the biggest of his worries, no sir. There was still the issue of the fact that there was a human hiding in his restaurant. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the Royal Guard wasn’t so intense about trying to hunt down every human in the near vicinity. Not that such a thing occurred often— which, in truth, just made this situation worse.
All he can do is stand there &. look contemplative about his next actions. Should he provide her a better spot to hide? To be fair, her spot underneath the booth wasn’t... an ideal spot. She was in more or less plain sight. Then again... he could always turn her in. What a horrid thought, even if it was for the “ good “ of monsterkind, it really was atrocious—
His train of thought is suddenly brought to a screeching stop as several canines enter his establishment, all with snouts raised to the air, sniffing furiously. Without even having a moment to consider the action he was about to take, Grillby very calmly ( but quickly ) moves around the counter, ushering the guards out of his bar, despite their protesting. Many a yip was heard but all he did was point silently at the neon sign at the front window. CLOSED, it said, in big bright letters.
Doggo’s head turns &. for a moment, the bartender can feel the cold grip of panic closing in around his soul. Did he smell the human? Grillby proceeds to shove them out the door, unwilling to take any chances. In the blink of an eye, the door is closed ( &. locked this time ), the stray pieces of wood are picked off the floor &. he is crouched in front of the shivering human with the same blank expression he greets nearly everyone with.
