♚ —— THE SMILE ON HER face was quick to
be reflected on his his own, freckled features lighting up. She
looked beautiful when she smiled. It was a look she wore better
than the solemnity of the one she wore when she expressed the
pain of what she had lost.
He lead her behind the little house, to the edge of the woods
across the backyard, giving her a reassuring glance before
taking her hand & entering the undergrowth which blocked
out most of the sunlight, except for the little gaps in the
canopy that allowed the golden light to stream in, illuminating
every speck of dust, every drop of dew.
He stopped by the edge of a small lake, before cupping his hands
& letting out a call that sounded more like a roar, shoulders slumping
as he heard the sound mimicked, the rustling of bushes announcing
the arrival of the reptile, who abruptly leaped out & tackled him down
onto the forest floor. He gave her a weak smile, groaning as the

a dragon, by the way For Thor’s sake, Toothless, I get it that you

Cinderella found her cheeks aching a little with the strength of her
smile, glad that it was a gesture that had been returned. So often
she found herself alone, whether it be in her outlook upon the world
or in a more literal and painful sense of the word. But here, she had
found someone who seemed to feel as she did, and that was enough
for her to trust him as they walked into the woods. The deep green of
the place was soothing, and she is not afraid at all, not even when the
roar erupted from Hiccup’s throat. Instead, she watched, ever patient,
for this mysterious and impossible friend to appear.
As the dragon appeared, the smile upon her face widened, and she
burst into warm laughter as Hiccup was tackled to the ground, the
beast he called friend smothering him with licks. She stayed where
she was, though she positively ached to reach out, to touch, to see.
