Cleaned out a closet. Found this sketch from â07. Didnât hate it. Posted it here.
It was almost too good, almost impossible, almostâŚuncontainable. He wished they could all be here to see it, to live it, yet at the same time, it was something he only wanted the true ones to experience. He felt the true ones would understand it best, his god, his life, his light, Wagner, andâŚ
He wasnât sure what he had been thinking, all of a sudden- everything heâd ever done seemed somehow trite in comparison to this moment as the blood rushed to his head. He had been checking his pocket watch as obsessively as though he were trying to catch the first train out of Munich, the whole of Bavariaâs ministers at his back, a pack of froth-mouthed wolfs and a sad and sorry von Bulow in the middle of them, his somber black frame nursing an injured pride and a pregnant wife. Admist the heavy breathing and birthing pangs of his new performance, this new art form breaching into the world and stealing his peace of mind, the kingâs letter had arrived; and now it was all he, humble Wagner, could do to pause, sit back in one velvet chair or another, and whisper the same secret prayer under his breath as his dear friend had put to paper. He checked his pocket watch again out of fitful habit and was suddenly again back on his feet, instantly fumbling pell-mell into the carriage outside. It was time- and nothing tonight, much less the king, could be left waiting.Â
Even in their relationship and closeness and state of perfect confidence in each other, it was rare that Ludwig emerged at the first moment of Wagner's arrival. It was unacceptable to be less than perfect in his position, not a single hair was to be out of place and not a thread was to be left hanging from any seam. And sometimes, the very act of his appearance had to be so precise. He fondly remembered that of their first meeting, and how glorious it was indeed, but then there were moments like now. When his hair was of all sorts, and perhaps he did not look quite so much like the Lohengrin that he was for the world, but for Wagner, he sometimes forgot. Sometimes he was just Ludwig.
In whatever appearance he was, he waltzed out of his study doors and received him immediately, smiling softly as he stepped to him. "My dear friend, time does pass so slowly when I await your arrival, and so quickly once you've come..."
It was almost too good, almost impossible, almost...uncontainable. He wished they could all be here to see it, to live it, yet at the same time, it was something he only wanted the true ones to experience. He felt the true ones would understand it best, his god, his life, his light, Wagner, and Louis, and-- No, no, surely everyone could understand, would understand! Because this was no longer just a dream, it was about to be reality, a gift, in fact! A wonderful blessing to his dear Bavaria. And it was truly the best gift he could give. They may have their words, their...taunts, but, they would see, they would all soon see everything that there was to see! They always had their words, those words, those words...
He bit his lip hard, letting out a sharp breath through his nose.
Their words would soon fall to the wind, they would be swept away. And when it was over, they would have no words at all, they would be speechless. He was completely sure of it, more than anything. These are the things Ludwig wrote to him now, in his final correspondence before they would meet again prior to the moment they've both been waiting for all this time. The letter was signed, sealed, delivered, and it couldn't be sent fast enough.Â
He tapped his fingers on his desk. And bit his lip once more.
"Would you order me?" He asked, sweetly as he smiled at his beloved.Â
"Ludwig." He whispered teasingly.
Stretching like a cat he shuffled closer to the body beside him. Wishing to share his warmth. "Did you sleep well?"
A smirk spread across his face, wrapping his arms around the slender waist of his angel, running his hands up and down the curve of his hip bone.Â
"I think my orders would be better saved for other things." He leaned in to steal a soft, quiet kiss from those lips before speaking again. "Rather well, but I had a bit of a nightmare. I was able to get out if it in the end. An angel saved me." He smiled. "And yourself?"
Ludwig/Hornig RP
Ooc: Iâm gonna be Hornig in this.
He awoke by golden sunlight on his face and he could not be angry at it, even if it torn him from sleep and bitter sweet dreams. He could not be angry for it gave him a moment to look at the sleeping man beside him.
No, he could not be angry for Ludwig looked so sweet, so careless when he was taken by slumber. âGood morning, my king.â He mumbled, running his fingers through black raven hair, party curled partly straight, and he kissed the pale skin carefully.
He was floating, naked, in a sea of blackness, nothingness. It was bright, yet it was also dark, but he did not bother to think of it. He was not alone, there was someone else. Suddenly, he began to feel warmer, the other presence was coming closer, and as it did, everything began to get brighter, a glowing light shining in the distance, coming ever closer, until he could feel it. There was warmth on his cheek, and from that spot, a tingling sensation went throughout his whole body. Surely it was an angel, or maybe God himself, touching him, no, it was....
He opened his eyes, taking in the world around him, and heard those words.
"I thought I told you to call me Ludwig," he muttered in his sleepy voice, trying to focus on his face. "Don't make me order you."
@Lestat, from Ludwig
On this night, as on many nights before, the young king of Bavaria had set out on a walk all alone, awake and alert as if it were mid afternoon. The whole castle was quiet, and even some of the servants were asleep in these late hours of the night, but that never stopped Ludwig. It was this time of the night in which his mind blossomed, in which he was free from having to deal with hundreds of bothersome political things during the day, free from everyone that frowned upon his wild imagination. Alone, in the dark, he was able to appreciate the beauty of the night, and get lost in his thoughts, imagining a world filled with things from the wildest of fairly tales and orchestrated by enchanting Wagnerian music. The only times he truly felt he could escape into himself was on nights like this, as we walked through the town on his own, warm coat over him, cane clicking at his side.
breathing becomes hard. Life flows away. Iâve heard them say you see your life flash before your eyes. Iâve hold the hands of men who fell before me, and yet itâs more comforting when youâre the one laying in the arms of death. There is no film of your life, only darkness in the corner of your...
There were voices shouting, men running about and giving command to one another and making chaos. It would've been unbearable for you on your own, surrounded by such a commotion, but in reality, at this moment, there was only one person who had your attention. Everything else melted away underneath your worry, fear. He was opening his eyes now, and the anxiety made you grip harder on your hold of him, holding him tight. There was a doctor on the way, and a cot being prepared for him, but you needed to be here with him, now. They would stand down for their King.
"Otto..." Your voice trembled in a way you only heard it do when you prayed all alone, or when you whispered precious secrets to your dear cousin, or when you spoke of the fantasies in your mind. "It is I, Ludwig, I am here...do you see me? Hear me?"
Weihnachten [Teen!Ludwig and Kid!Otto]
It was evening by the time the two princes were freed from their daily schedules. It may have been a holiday, but that was no pardon from their daily routines. However, their guardians understood the occasion at least a bit, and they were allowed to finish their days early. After all their studies and other duties had been completed, the two princes were taken to their mother, and their father would also be joining on this rare occasion. Ludwig, by first thought, was not looking forward to the reunion, yetâŚthere was a small part, inside, that held a little hope. Perhaps it could go well this time. Just for once.
âCome, Your Highness.â The nanny of the Crown Prince led the boy through the castle to gather his younger brother from his own quarters before taking them both along to the Queen Mother and King.
Otto had been in his quarters ever since he and his brother had finished their tasks and studies. He was laying on his bed, reading a book that his tutor had given him, it was a fairytale book, the type of book that his parents didnât want him, nor his brother, to read. they said that it was poison to their minds but Otto enjoyed the stories of strong princes who saved always gorgeous looking damsels in distress. He was laying on his stomach, kicking his legs. He knew that the nanny would be mad at him for laying on his bed with his shoes on but he still did it, because he wasnât afraid of the nanny and her punishments. He was a prince and he could do whatever he wanted! When he heard the nanny and his brother coming he quickly hid the fairytale book under his pillow and jumped of his bed. Otto actually didnât want to go to his parents. He didnât like being with them they always acted so cold, besides Ludwig always acted strangely around them. âBRUDER!â Otto smiled brightly when he saw his brother standing behind the nanny when she opened the door. Ludwig only nodded and a pout appeared on the nannyâs lips. âyour highness! A young prince like yourself should not act like that, not even towards his own brother!â She took his hand and dragged him out of his quarters. Not noticing how Otto stuck out his tongue to her. Ludwig gave him a warning glance. Otto knew that his brother always acted like this during the day, it started around two years ago. Their old nanny said it had something to do with him growing up and Otto being younger and not yet reaching that phase so he could not understand it. He had liked that nanny, it was a shame his father kicked her out. âThe king and queen have high expectations of you both your highnesses.â nanny said while dragging them through the hall. Ludwig was able to keep up with her because of his longer legs, Otto on the other hand, was not. âWe are perfectly aware of that, nanny.â Ludwig spoke the last word with a sneer, he hated the women who took care of them. âWe are princes, we know how to behave.â Otto looked at Ludwig. His brother had changed a lot, when he was younger he used to smile and play with him a lot, but now. The smile had become a frown and he never took the time to play with him. Otto missed it, but he knew that Ludwig had other, more important things to do now. Nanny took them until the door of the dining room. There she gave them one last preach about how their father the king had high expectations and how they needed to behave and not let their parents down. It was annoying and Otto could see Ludwig turning angrier and angrier by the minute. When she finally left Otto looked at his brother. âBruder, do you fear father?â He asked softly. Because he did, he feared their father, he feared him a lot.
Ludwig quickly turned his head away from the nanny as she walked away from them, not bothering to spare her a glance as she exited. She was ugly, anyway. Ottoâs sudden question had caught the Crown Prince off guard, causing him to turn quickly to look at his brother with a slightly surprised expression. Otto was younger, and didnât understand half of the thing he should have as a prince, so Ludwig was only partially surprised by how blunt the question was.
ââŚNo,â he said, his voice firm. He looked Otto straight in the eyes, his eyebrows furrowed slightly and lips pressed tightly together. âIt is beneath me to fear him. I am to be King. I shall be the one in his place one day. A King fears no one, nor does a Prince. You must not fear him, Bruder, do you understand me? Never show him fear. You are a Prince.âÂ
Of course it was a lie. At least, the first part was. It was lowly of him, but that didnât make him fear their father any less, if he could hardly be called such a thing. He was His Majesty the King, notâŚfather. He had to lie, anyway, to protect Otto. If not he, then who else would teach him these things? He would end up cowering away from him, which was not something a Prince should do because of anyone, ever. Otto had to learn his position, which was too high for childish behaviour.Â
Without waiting for a response from his brother, Ludwig walked into the next room, which was decorated elaborately for the Christmas occasion, complete with a large tree that sparkled even in the light with its decoration. The King and Queen Mother stood across the room beside the tree. The King was speaking with someone for the moment, but whoever it was glanced over along with the King, who merely nodded in greeting to the two princes. Their mother however smiled and opened her arms to the two boys, stepping toward them.
Otto smiled brightly when his mother opened her arms for him and his brother. He tried not to look at his father as he ran towards her and jumped into her arms. âMutter!â he laughed and wrapped his arms around her waist. Never wanting to let go again. âMutter can we bake something later today?â He looked over his shoulder to Ludwig. âDo you want to bake something with me Ludwig? You still like baking right? We could bring some to the guards and eat it with them!â Otto was still holding his mother and he, because he still possessed his childish innocence, did not notice the slight change that took place in the room. Ludwig froze, so did his mother. âCan we Mutter, Ludwig?â
The crown prince watched as his brother excitedly ran into the arms of their mother, something he himself did not do. He did not express himself in such was so outwardly, something his young sibling was never afraid of doing. Still, he did walk to his mother and gave her a kiss on the cheek before turning to his brother, listening. "You want to bake?" He asked, looking up at his mother again for affirmation. "Yes, I'd like to. And we can share with the Kindermädchen too, yes?" This time, he did allow himself a small smile and looked down at his brother and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You can pick what to bake, Otto." He knew that holidays, especially Christmas time, were some of the moments that brought the most joy to his young brother, and this joy of his brought happiness to Ludwig as well. The holiday in itself was one he enjoyed, because the snow that often came around any of the castle always fell over everything in a beautiful, glowing white blanket, creating a magical image of dreams over his childhood playground. "Later, too, Bruder, I would like to go out and see the snow, and you may join me if you like."
