I keep wondering about the omen trailer and where that ties in to the main story, but I came up with something that's more plot based than.. actual meaning. What if the whole omen thing was what would happen if Noctis defeated Ardyn and lived? If you look at it, the scenes led up to some weird ass parallel to the main story. The regalia was destroyed, the Bros were nowhere to be seen, he was fighting a bunch of MTs, same as when you were in the main game before you retrieved the crystal. Then there's the Luna scene where Noctis apparently kills her, same as Ardyn did. My point is...what if Noctis became Ardyn had he lived? All those demons ended up inside of Noctis instead and he became that monster we saw in the omen trailer? It's not something to be taken seriously, but I was just wondering if this could have been some weird hype trailer with no meaning or was tabata hinting at something else? Either way, it's a fun plot if you wanted Noct to survive with a twist.

He could have argued with Noct about snacking before dinner, but he decided against it, just offering a touch of a smile as the younger man handed him a skewer. “I suppose not. Thank you.” He began one more on his way to pick up their forgotten groceries, pulling a bite from the skewer and munching on it. 

            ❛   No problem,  ❜  HE MURMURS, FOLLOWING ALONG to mingle with the crowds lingering by the food stalls and surveying their left items with a slight frown on his face. Picking veggies was never his favorite pastime and only the six knew how much the prince sucked at it, rarely finding the proper ingredients that Ignis was satisfied with. However, this time there might be success in his purchase as he clutches the onions in the sack.  ❛   Check ‘em out! I think these are the best we’ve bought so far!  ❜

Another GROAN seeps past his lips before the prince relents and pushes himself up from the chair.  ❛   As long as we’re back before dawn? Unlike you, I’m not a fan of it... It means I lost sleeping hours.  ❜

      body stiffens as fingers prod against taut muscle, lip curling ever-so briefly until he realised that he was chasing away the kinks that make lifting him are an impossibility — cracked shield decides that he’ll allow it solely for selfish reasons. grouchy growl bleeds into a contented hum  (  he despises being touched but it feels good  /   those fingers chase away the weight of the world. oh, it weighs heavy  ).  a cacophony rumbles in his thoat; equal parts enjoyment and guilt — t’was his own fault for overdoing it when he should really know better.   gladio responds with a grunt and slumps down into his seat.

          DELICATE FINGERS ARE CHASING kinks and knotted muscles with a rare patience that the young prince usually never showed. His actions were always rushed, fueled by impulse more than it was needed. But tonight, he can grant his shield a well-deserved treatment and relaxation since he fought so hard to keep the future king of Lucis alive.  ❛ Think I could take the place of the masseuse in Galdin? At least I wouldn’t break someone’s hip intentionally.   ❜

they wanted to set you on fire  and call you a sun and build a shrine to your name      to praise your warmth and your light and your strength   but love, you refused to burn   so instead they encased you in ice buried you ten feet deep in snow until you forgot what warm felt like made a moon of your skin            and stars of your teeth            and ice comets of your eyes   and now they look up at the night sky and they talk about the one who died to light it up and they call you guardian, protector, sentinel   and they forget that they are the ones who froze you in the first place

and they still made a hero of your tragedy ( j.p. )

“No, you won’t.” Ignis speaks the truth and he knows that he does. Noctis has a habit of brushing him off by half-heartedly agreeing to his suggestions. He’s more than used the Prince’s habits by now after so many years together. It doesn’t take much guesswork for him to anticipate Noctis’ actions. 

“You’ll forget about it and lose the buttons,” he sighs, “and then we’ll have to go look for one that matches it before I can mend it.” 

It honestly wouldn’t be the first time nor does Ignis expect it to be the last either. 

           ❛   Okay, fiiiiiiine. You want to see me mend my own buttons, I’ll show you then.  ❜  ROYAL BLUES ARE ROLLED before arms are folded neatly across his chest and he’s rocking back on the heels of his boots. If Noctis wanted to be productive without the help of his loyal advisor, he knows he’ll have to prove it through his own actions.  ❛   You think I haven’t watched you do these things for me all these years? Maybe cooking isn’t something I picked up...but THIS I can damn well do.   ❜

          SWEETS WERE A PICKY thing for Noctis and when the other is holding out a small pastries, the king is humming thoughtfully before taking the cake between his fingers and biting into it enough to get the full flavor– which tasted like orange and vanilla, earning a calm smile. ❛   Not bad, thanks for this. ❜

        HOW DID ONE KNOW Noctis hated vegetables? Looking at the stubborn king, he seemed as if he followed a healthy routine that involved broccoli and his most dreaded dish ever– BEANS. When the dish is placed on the table with the utmost care by the woman and unveiled, Noctis makes a rumbling noise deep in the back of his throat and he grimaces at the sight. ❛   Well– I’m thankful for the uh..thought…? ❜ Another grimace that turns into a flat-out wince.  ❛   But let’s try to stick to meats and away from…this.  ❜

          HE WASN’T ONE WHO slept in public so easily. Perhaps it was too many hamburgers and milkshakes that had doused the prince with sandman’s dust and an uncomfortable nightmare, leaving him a muttering mess at the counter. He truly doesn’t mean to be– once more his dream is something that he can’t fully remember when he’s awakened by the stranger next to him, eyes unsteady as he focuses on the reality of his surroundings. It’s with an embarrassed exhale and nod of his head that the prince is sliding off his stool and grabbing his jacket.

          Lowkey Highkey bets Noctis would admit his feelings on Ignis’ birthday just because he was too cheap to get him a gift and need to distract him from the fact. Every year he stands in a store like wtf does he like?? Tf does he want? This year he’s just like blam I got you feelings since I couldn’t find you a watch to go with all your other 36465583 watches I got you all the other years before this one.

♦ – Gladiolus was now the head of the Crownsguard, and what better way to prepare himself for today than training outside in the courtyard? He was in charge of training the new recruits today and that meant that he needed all the warming up he could get. He had literally just stepped into the area and started preparing for him lonesome spar before a voice pulled his attention, causing him to turn towards it. Looks like Noct had the whole idea of skipping his meeting.

❝Yeah, it’s pretty early huh?❞ He said, his arms folding in front of him as he watched the other gesture to his sword. ❝It has been a while since we had the chance to spar isn’t it? Fine, let’s go. Hope you’re ready to get your ass handed to you.❞

He knew that Noctis was avoiding the meeting, but hey, he knew his pain. When Gladio attend some of them, he wished he could avoid them too, so the least he could do was do it for Noctis right now… but he wasn’t doing it for too long.

         ❛   After all these years, you’re still too damn cocky.  ❜  AS IF TEN YEARS changed his own ego when it came down to battle-- or sparring. Even on a bad knee, Noctis could still hold his own with a greatsword and ache later in the privacy of his chambers. He would never admit his pains after a spar because...well...he was Noctis. Doing anything but suffering in silence wasn’t befitting of him. The king slides his cape and jacket off, draping it on a nearby bench and stretching his arms to warm up stiff muscles.   ❛   If you lose, you have to attend the meeting with me-- no excuses.  ❜  His greatsword is materializing into an awaiting grasp as he speaks and he beckons for his royal guard to take him on.

lightly ruffles his liege's ( already messy ) hair in passin ; and then pauses, proceeds to groom it back a little to be a smidgen less--- difficult.

          THERE’S A METHOD WHEN it comes down to baiting Ignis into doing things he normally wouldn’t around the others or if the young king was awake. Such as affection– only the gods above know how much Noctis secretly craves it since his childhood was neglected of such luxury most of the time. He never had gotten it much from Gladio aside the usual headlock and shove. Prompto offered hugs here and there along with the tent cuddles… Then there was Ignis with his weirdly perfected touches that only came rarely, never too much or too often. Noctis had been one of those who had feared returning the affection despite knowing that Ignis would never hurt him– but those jaded hues would sometimes alarm Noctis and he’d….chicken out.

          BUT TONIGHT WAS DIFFERENT all because he molded his plan on point. He decided to fake sleeping the second Ignis stepped out the tent and everyone knows that Noctis is the best at faking such an easy feat. With one leg crossed over the other and arms folded, he’s patiently waiting for his advisor to give in and be lured over by his liege’s vulnerable state. But when the bait is taken, Noctis isn’t sure he can reel the older male in. The skilled fingers in his spiky mess of locks has beryl orbs fluttering open as he stares at the campfire, a gasp sounding to hold in a LAUGH that nearly seeps out. Was…Ignis grooming him? Apparently the look he had made didn’t quite strike on good terms with the brunette and Noctis’ wild mane is neatly groomed back to have a little decency.

         ❛   You never stop taking care of me, do you? ❜  THERE’S A FONDNESS IN his tone as he tips his head back to stare up at Ignis, a boyish smile forming as he takes in beautiful emeralds. It’s only a second of admiration since Noctis doesn’t wish to get caught in the intimidating gaze for long and he’s slipping out his seat with a stretch of his arms. He knows, oh does he know, what his childhood companion is going for at this time of night. So the king fetches a cup of Ebony coffee and offers it to the other male.  ❛   You’re kind of docile when you’re not working, Specs. I like it. ❜  Another smile falls on full lips and the king is carelessly ❪  Or perhaps strategically planned. ❫ brushing his fingers against gloved ones in passing.
