Feeling Defeated? 💜

Today I wanna share some personal motivational tips which I've been practising.
Maybe these will be useful and help you as well!
Have you experienced or are you currently experiencing a time when you just want to give up?
Yes you just want to give up, and you find it so hard to be motivated?

Ok, so life sometimes doesn't work out as what we plan.
There are situations in our lives which we cannot control and these make us feeling angry and disappointed.
There are also times when we start a journey, we want to make big changes in our lives, to make things better, but in the end, we end up failing again, and these make us even more miserable.
So during those difficult times, it can be really hard to even function.
Some of us just keep crying thinking about the problems.
Some just stay in bed and not do anything, you're like numb, don't know what to do with the problems.
There are many other ways different people tend to do during those difficult times.
When you find it's difficult to function, of course it is more difficult to be motivated and to push forward in your lives!
It's easier to just give up and hide away, yes?
Those times you think you have failed, the feeling is very painful, but believe that there will be great life lessons that you will get if you just push through the pain.
A few years back, it was a tough ride for me and my husband.
That time I was still working. Even though my pay was high, it wasn't enough as we had monthly bills to pay.
My husband lost his job because he became ill and was not well to get a job.
So I was feeling very stuck.
My work from morning till evening was already energy consuming.
I was thinking twice to take up another job.
Even though it waz just the two of us then, we didn't have enough money to buy food for ourselves.
That time I only know how to buy frozen chicken wing to cook, so in that packet, I will count exactly how many.
Then, when I cook, I will count how many each of us can eat, and for how long it can last us because we didn't have enough to buy some more.
There were times when we couldn't afford chicken, so we just stick to fried rice or Jemput-Jemput (fritters) since flour makes us full. So during those times, I felt very stuck and helpless.
Along the way, I learnt some ways to bring myself up again, which I'm going to share.
Today I want to share 3 ways that helped myself to find a way to stay motivated to push forward despite wanting to give up.
💜 First, focus on the things that you're grateful for in life.
This is called attitude of gratitude. When you focus on what you’re grateful for, it’s actually hard to be focused on the negative.
You will surely realise that you are actually blessed with many things in life.
In that moment when you are angry, or feeling too sad, that's when you should start listing off three to five things you are grateful for in your life.
For example, Alhamdulillah, I'm alive, I can breathe with ease.
Alhamdulillah I can walk without feeling pain.
Alhamdulillah for my eyes, I can see my daughter's face.
Something like this.
So, let the gratitude of all these replace your other emotions. If you have not tried it, do give it a try.
💜 Secondly, I learn to always celebrate small wins, no matter how small they are.
Small things like you bathing your child, make her smells nice and wearing lovely clothes, feed her food. And that is your small win!
Tell yourself, you're awesome! Pat yourself on the back.
Sometimes I forgot that I've actually accomplished many things for that day.
Yes, sometimes you will feel so tired, but learn to be aware and keep track of the things you have done, and celebrate those wins.
Because by doing so, it will give us a feeling of achievement and pride!
And this will make us continue moving forward step by step, inshaAllah.
Alright, so remember to celebrate your small wins!
💜 Lastly, is to stop punishing yourself for small things that go wrong.
When we want to achieve something, of course we will face challenges and failures, that's part of the journey.
Instead of focusing on the mistakes, we learn from them.
Learn to forgive yourself when you fall, then pick yourself up again and keep moving forward.
This is very important. So don't punish yourself, learn from the mistake and move forward.
Ok so those are the 3 ways that I learnt along the way, that helped me pick myself up again and to try again and again to keep moving forward always.
