What We Know About Travis Reinking (as of 9 pm April 23rd 2018)
Originally from Illinois, where he had previous encounters with law enforcement
Had a history of delusional behavior.
Believed Taylor Swift was stalking him and his family was helping her
Once jumped into a pool wearing a pink dress and his underwear and tried to pick a fight with the lifeguards
Tried to enter the White House in 2016, claiming he was a “sovereign citizen” and had a right to speak to the President. He received a misdemeanor unlawful entry charge, completed 33.5 hours of community service and was told to stay away from the White House for 4 months
Illinois police revoked his firearms license and had his guns confiscated. The guns were placed in the possession of Travis’ father.
His father admitted to giving Travis his guns back. He could face charges but has not yet been charged with anything.
Four days before the Waffle House shooting, Travis stole a BMW from an auto dealer. The car was recovered at his apartment.
He had previously discussed killing himself
