Maybe it was out of need. Maybe it *was* a power thing. And maybe it shows the depths of their relationship beyond a baseline smile and wholesome side. Doesn't make it any more or less righteous what happened, but perhaps this action between two characters demonstrate the unhealthiness betwern each other, and is definitely portrayed in a way that is not meant to be palatable.
