Turtle Frog (Myobtrachus gouldii), family Myobatrachidae, Western Australia

These burrowing frogs dig forward, like a turtle, and not backwards into the soil, like most burrowing frogs.

After pairing up, a couple descends into a burrow, where they later mate, and lay eggs. The offspring go through the larval stage in the eggs (not having a free swimming tadpole stage).

They feed on termites.

The new meds are so hard on my body, like i have been sleeping 16-18 hours a day which does a doozy on my mental health as well because it is taxing as fuck to only have 6 hours a day within which to eat and talk and think and feel like a human being. and sometimes i spend 3 of those hours at work. so yes the last 3 weeks have been very hard, and the next 5 don't seem likely to let up. but here's the point of this post, which i have been wobbling around but will finally present: i think the meds are working. I think for the first time in years i am starting to see some progress. I will grit my teeth and forge ahead, a skill i have perfected over the last eight years of this bullshit. I can get through a hard time. I can survive a few days or weeks or, if absolutely necessary, months, mostly confined to my bed, without descending into suicidal ideation. i am developing mastery over being a sick person. hopefully within a few years I will not have any use for that mastery.
