People shipping based on whether they find someone hot or not is wild to me because what do you mean only NOW are some fans actually liking kataang because they think aang is hot.
You didn't see the appeal when he helped her reclaim her childlike whimsy? Not when he flew into a grief stricken rage and she helped him find peace? Not when they awkwardly tried to figure out their feelings in the cave of two lovers? When aang nearly died and katara used the spirit water to bring him back and hugged him tight? When we see the childish jealousy and them throwing a party for the firebending children where they got to be free and dance?
It took a character being hot to you for you to actually see any potential in romance?
Kataang has always been a very cute romance between two kids working through their trauma and finding hope in what seems hopeless. It's endearing.
