Tried to meet up with my Scruff date until I found out that he was in Staten Island. Like you expect me to take a ferry to hook up? Honestly, the nerve to pull that shit when I can find perfectly acceptable lay in Manhattan. @pretendingstartersâ
The guys on Staten are desperate sometimes. Get you a fuck whoâll take the ferry to Manhattan. Itâs easy enough to talk them into it... But Iâm with you. If I have to take the ferry, no thanks. Iâll stay home and masturbate.
So I have been here a year and just started walking and finding little gems or what not and I went to this bakery that served something called a cronut. Now I love me some sweet and all but this just seemed a little weird to me. Though I tried it I didnât have high expectations but boy was I surprised it was really good. So now I am looking for more gems around town that have delicious foods I never tired; Any suggestions?
@pretendingstartersâ
If I could crawl inside a cronut and live there, Iâd do it. Canât recommend anything without knowing what you like, but if youâve never been to Smorgasberg at the Brooklyn Flea, you have to do it. Itâs brilliant. And you have to take me, because I havenât had anyone to go with in ages.
Does anyone have experience with child proof fridge locks? Like, do they actually work? This was the third night in a row that Freddie managed to open the fridge to steal my leftovers, so I woke up to a total mess.
Oh, Freddie is my cat, by the way. Probably shouldâve mentioned that soonerâŠ
@pretendingstartersââ
Donât know a thing about child proof anything, but it sounds like your leftovers must be pretty delicious. What are you making over there? And yes, if youâve guessed Iâm hungry, youâre right. Iâm absolutely ravenous over here.
I just wasted my dark day. Got invited somewhere. Said YES, like an idiot. Hanging out with friends is a sham... especially if said friend invites you to a fuckinâ church. If church is for you, God bless, but I couldâve slept all day instead. Couldâve ordered food in, marathoned some trashy TV.
âso, serious question iâve had since i first moved out here that iâm trusting youâll help me out with.â he smiles for a moment, the question partly a joke in a way, with how much heâs asked his own roommate the same thing. it falls a little though, a shoulder shrug following.  âis there a reason everything out here is so expensive, other than like, trying to not get people to move out here? because i swear to god, i think i havenât paid so much money for hot dogs anywhere other than here.â
@pretendingstartersâ
âItâs proof. Itâs the authenticity of being able to say, âYeah, I live in this super expensive city. I can hack it out here.ââ Kirin had no idea what the actual reason was, but heâd always weighed whether or not he was genuinely surviving against what he could afford at any given time. âIf you can shop at Whole Foods, catch a show on Broadway, avoid the tourists and take cabs all the time? Yeah, maybe youâre a real New Yorker.â
âi might have lived in the city my whole life, but there is one thing i will never get used to. the weather.â rachel leaned towards the person by her side and gave them an apologetic smile as she fixed her coat. âyou never know what to expect! are you going to end all squeezed up in the subway because itâs raining or will you freeze to death when it starts snowing?â she had nothing to complain about, considering she would most likely ask to use the private limo of the theater, but, she was at least trying to be relatable. âiâm sorry about that, i think i woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.â

âYou look comfortable, at least. Maybe you have the knack for weather prediction, and you just havenât realized it yet.â Kirin glanced down at what heâd chosen to wear that day, jeans and short sleeves. âDress for the weather you want. Thatâs my policy.â He kicked at a rock in front of him, nudging it out of the way as he mumbled, âProbably why my nipples are freezing off.â Crossing his arms over his chest, he frowned slightly. âSo... any reason youâve got the grumps?â

SECRET: Right before Kirinâs 14th birthday, his younger brother Abi took a walk down to a park on the edge of their council estates. Abiâs friends congregated there most afternoons, and they often got so absorbed in their play that it wasnât uncommon for Abi to lose track of the time. When he wasnât home for dinner, that wasnât unusual, but when Kirin walked down to the park to bring him home, he wasnât there. Abi had been missing since that day. Kirin has thought about him every day since, and when he moved to New York to look for acting work, he changed his name and adopted an American accent, hoping to distance himself from the horrible memories that haunt him today.
HEADCANONS:
Kirin was born Rahul Puri. He and his family lived in Bradford, and his parents ran a restaurant near the council estates he grew up on. His brother was six years younger, a happy surprise for parents whoâd only ever intended to have one kid. His childhood was relatively happy before the abduction.
Heâd always wanted to be an actor. He canât remember a time when that wasnât in his plans, but after being exposed to the media circus that accompanied his brotherâs abduction, he had to think about whether or not that would be something he could handle. Changing his name and story helped him feel more comfortable in interviews, though he felt certain heâd be outed eventually.
Kirin had known about his homosexuality for as long as heâd had any concept of attraction to other people. He came out early, receiving very little push back against the concept. He felt lucky to be accepted so easily. It has made him comfortable being out as an actor and taking about his romantic life in interviews.
