Attack on @buriedknight !!
I have this plague that’s called Whenever The Characters Get Together I Lose Interest In Writing Them Bc All I Can Handle Is Yearning
Anyway I think more video game quests should make you uncomfortable and guilty and mislead you and corner you between a rock and a hard place and offer hollow victories. There's nothing more annoying than quest writing that scrambles to assure you that you're niceys and good and nothing you put your hand on can ever have negative consequences. "You cannot save everyone" and I cheer and whoop etc.
the implication of saying hi
Saying hi ending explained
writing is a fantastic hobby but the kicker is it's a lot harder to show your friends as it's progressing. with a sketch i can show someone and they'll be like oh that's an apple. you can't do that with words until you get a lot of them down. so i'll just be like damn fuckin. uhh. check this out
that's right. and that's just one of the several words i know
okay let's actually do this properly
Where do you write your fics/stories
Word
Google Docs
Scrivener
LibreOffice
Obsidian/Notion
ProtonDocs
Notes App
Directly into AO3
Ellipsus
Handwriting
Other (explain in tags?)
I’m not sure if this will be helpful to anyone, but you literally do not have to be a good writer to write and post fan fiction. Yes you will naturally get better at writing and finding your voice the more you do it but you do not have to be or become a professional level writer to enjoy writing and sharing fics. It’s common to hear people praise fic writers by saying their work is better than published books, and while I think this comes from a good place, that’s not the norm or expectation. There is also a sentiment that fic writing is “good practice” for becoming a better writer or doing something else later, but if fic is the only creative writing you ever do that is literally okay. Your technical skill does not mean you cannot have fun and build community with your writing, or that other people cannot love and find meaning in your work.
THIS IS AN OC CHECKPOINT
give me 1 cool fact about your oc RIGHT NOW
UPDATE it doesn't even have to be 'cool', give me a fact about ur oc!!!!
I started Veilguard for the first time and it feels illegal to be enjoying myself but I genuinely am
opened my wip and didnt immediately write a thousand new beautiful and perfect words so i'm going to smash my laptop with a hammer
my laptop is making a Bad Sound and I’m irrationally upset about it
I WANT TO WRITE MY STORIES!!!!!!!!!!!! -> continues doing literally Anything Else besides writing
They dont even know im having a category 10 blorbo event
enriching situations for characters who are deadly terrified of being vulnerable around others:
being gravely wounded and having to put their life in another person's hands. either fighting back with the last of their strength, or being too weak to protest when someone undresses them to take proper care of their injury
having a panic attack around (or caused by) another person. the fact that they're seen by someone like this only intensifies it, making them hyperventilate more
sleeping next to someone, trusting that they won't do anything to them. likely still going to wake up multiple times during the night at the slightest movement or sound
facing a fear/phobia they have and trying to remain composed as to not reveal their fear to everyone.
getting sick, feeling weak and utterly helpless. passing in and out of conciousness. flinching instinctively as someone checks their temperature
having limited mobility (ie. due to injury). needing to rely on someone else to help them move and do basic daily tasks. taking a bath together and allowing to be gently washed
bringing someone to the place they were raised in, allowing them to see into their past and judge it for themself.
FOOD DISCOURSE: reblog with ur opinions on guacamole, olives, mango, hummus, tomatoes, and cannolis
You're never too old to:
Stay up late thinking about the character
Be haunted by the memory of the character
Wonder if you'll ever finish that fic you started (x 20)
Reread your old fic and ask if you'll ever write anything again
Be tormented by visions of a made-up guy (gn)
