A thick eyebrow arched at her twin’s direction. “Stop spitting out NONSENSE, Satsuki. You  know I worry mad when you’re away.” she  reached out, cupping her twin’s face. “If anything happened to you…”

So it was a front. She couldn’t blame her twin for being upset at her disappearance, but she did come back, and she was here now. “You forget who you’re talking to. Even if something happened, it’s in our blood to fight and push through it.” She sighed deeper, resting her head against the other’s touch. “You may have been a bit more motivation for me.” There was a long pause before she spoke again. “Forgive me for worrying you.”

“It’s been a while hasn’t it? I trust all has been well?” Satsuki smiled slightly, happy to see him. A lot had changed in their lives since the passing of her mother. For now, she hoped catching up would be something he was interested in.

“Ah well, I suppose it is needed…” She pauses and stares into the depth of her swirling crimson-filled glass before wrapping her arm around her daughter and digging her fingers around the general hip area, pulling her possibly too close to herself as she casually takes another ever so sip of her favorite wine and the drink taken is ever so delicate.

“Of course, of course. But you have forgotten! None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for my favorite daughter! And soon because of us, humanity will reach heavens far beyond their feeble imaginations!” There’s a strange, distant yet fascinating haze in Ragyo’s eyes as she boasts about her favorite evolutionary topics featuring illusive life fibers and such. Ending her speech by tapping the rim of her glass against her daughters, she hums low in her throat.

“You know, Satsuki…” With a sly grin on her face, she laughs quietly to herself. “Despite my fine tastes, I’ve actually never seen you drink alcohol before. Yet alone Grand Cru of all things, is this your first time?”

It would seem her plan was working nicely. Her mother took the bait and was now very content. Her eyes gazed down for a moment, feeling the woman’s arm snake around her. “Please mother, don’t take the credit away from yourself. I’ve only conducted research and gathered a small area for you compared to the amount of work you’ve accomplished with REVOCs.” 

Her head leaned in a little closer for a moment, using the too close contact to her advantage. “It’s quite a nice break to be here with you. Sometimes I miss it, but the Academy is where I’m needed at the moment. So let’s enjoy this moment of relaxation.” After all, the happier she kept her mother, the better for her. 

“I’ve never taken part in drinks with you, but I have with others for celebration purposes. Mostly champagne and a few wines. I’ve never quite tested my tolerance though. I felt that’s something that I should do in private instead of smearing the Kiryuin name.” There was that, plus tangling the potential idea that she’d test her tolerance in the privacy of her and her own mother had to entice her a bit. Of course she didn’t plan to really test that. 

“You are an expert on wines. Please enlighten me.”
