Looking at Tohru and his mom it seems to me he was apparently super premature and tiny baby. Runty, maybe even sick. Could actually be the reason why she's so overprotective of him. And to mom's horror he started to grow faster than gas prices.
Imagine mom's face when the kid is like eight, she takes him to school for the first time and teachers think she's his ugly twin sister.
I don't get cartoon companies making spinoffs of their adult characters as babies to appeal to baby audience. As a toddler I watched a show about people eating bull dicks and tuna eyes for money and turned out fine

It's always "stop harming yourself or we'll have to lock you up!!!" and never "what do you need to change to want to harm yourself less and how can we help you make some of these changes?" and that's why we're not getting anywhere
everyone loves to think of suicidality as this dramatic emergency, but for the chronically suicidal, it just... isn't. it's a regular, often daily part of life. how would you feel if you were told you're not allowed to talk about or mention something that for you is just another tuesday? it'd be pretty frustrating, right?
