So my dad is going through prostate cancer and stays at a Hilton Hotel after his daily treatments. I decided to make some of the staff - who have been so great to him and I - a small gesture of thanks. As I gave it to Delores she almost broke into tears and asked to give me a hug. She said she will wear it forever.
Being in customer service myself I know first hand that some days can be very difficult. I also know that something as simple as kind words can go a long way. The good ones make up for the difficult ones and make as a reminder that the job is worth it and why you love doing it in the first place. I told her how great of a job she is doing and to always remember that even when days are hard she is doing amazing and to never forget that.
