Ya know how Naia is able to heal darkened creatures and trees in the books? How cool would it be if they explored that in season 2. She could try to heal Deet (hopefully without losing her own life...like she was very close to doing a few times in the books).

I just want Naia to have her time to shine. It’s what she deserves.

This scene has always seemed a bit odd to me (and super sad for obvious reasons). They very deliberately decided to have Kylan as an observer of Tavra’s passing, when they could have easily just cut to the sisters for this scene. In these screenshots, Kylan watches on as the Threader that was attached to Tavra descends into the dark wood. I get why they show the threader running away, but why did they have Kylan observe it happen? Why did Kylan leave the others to watch on as Tavra is returned to Thra?

*Songs of the Dark Crystal spoilers*

In the YA novels, Kylan saves Tavra’s life by dream-etching her soul into the Threader that possessed her. For whatever reason, they decided not to go this route in AOR. Or at least we didn’t see it happen. Maybe Tavra really is part of the Threader now (and we had to wait until season 2 to find this out).

OR, and more likely, this is just a nod to what happened in Songs of the Dark Crystal.
