“I’m happy to hear you say that.” She replied with a smooth little smile. “Vodka, cherry, sour? I think. I dunno, I said vodka and sweet.” She was still figuring out this alcohol thing, but she had a good tolerance and that was the first step.
However, she wanted to try something else, so without asking, Kimber plucked the cigarette from his hand and took a drag before passing it back. It tickled, and she wanted to cough, but her urge to not look stupid took over, and she let the smoke out in a slow breath out. “Not bad.”
“Well look a’ that. You’re somethin’ else there, Miss.” He watched her take a drag from his smoke and hand it back. It left the mark of her lipstick on the filter. He wasn’t embarrassed to walk around with that. She was his little distraction, was she not?
“Not bad, is it? Not all good for your lungs there, either.”
